Your obsession with the whole "____ or die" is obviosly the result of something that happened to you. I have never in any assembly or meeting I've been to been told that. Or even had that hinted to me.

    Really? Not even hinted at?

Hmmmmm...yeah you are right there is no hints there. No join us or this will happen to you even insinuated.

Wow..whats that in the background? Death? Chaos? Yup. No hints here either though. No veiled threats of join us or this will happen to you.

    Look! Even puppies get killed.

Hmm..yeah I keep looking but I still see no veiled threats of join us or die. Never mind guess I was wrong.

    Hi SG and welcome!

Don't want to start a huge fight or anything...but you said you came to the board to speak out against things people said happened or are happening in congregations around the world because you believe them to be total lies and ridiculous.

May I ask how old you are, how long you've been a JW, do you hold any position in the congregation? Perhaps you are too young or are not a spiritual pillar in the cong. that would make you privy to such information. How do you know certain things are not true in other congreations around the world, or in the organization itself, or even within your own hall?

Could you also give more examples and the things you would like to refute?

Thank you. And again I welcome you! Although I may not agree with you, I appreciate the way you're coming across.

Ooo, bboyneko, you brought out the Tallywacker pictures

Again, I ask why it's any of the elder's business what music you listen too? What qualifies and elder to decide what music is "OK" or not? We all know the elder will simply judge based on his own personal opinion - what does that have to do with the bible? Doesn't this fall under the realm of what YOUR consence would dictate you do? So obviously a) you appoached the elders and said "Is this music OK"?, or b) Someone tattled on you to an elder saying "so and so was listening to demonic music, or c) and elder heard you himself listening to it. If a) then why do you feel the need to have another man be your consience? If b) it's a perfect example of the mental attidute of many JWs always 'looking out' for others, i.e. trying to get some dirt on them. If c) the elder should mind his own business.

Will there be a destruction? Yes
Will millions even billions perish? Yes
Who's fault is it that they will perish? Their own.
Has Jehovah given them the opportunity to change? we're still in this old system aren't we?
How many perished in Noah's day because they did not listen to the warnings? How many perished in the destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon because they did not listen? How many died in 70 C.E. because they did not pay attention to Jesus' words? More that a million Jews. Who's fault was it? Their own.

So those pictures the bboy posted are accurate. There will be a day of great destruction, but the pictures show hope for those that persevere and adhere to Jehovah.

    Yo YoMama:

It's bad enough that you believe in the big book of mythology, the Bible, but it's really sad that you believe in the rantings of Revelation, a book of dubious origins. Oh my!

hey name - lay off with the music - i started that because the stuff i listen to has bad language, references to the occult, 'degrading' sexual acts, self mutilation etc etc etc - and it has to be said that impressionable people could be misled by it

the job of any minister would be to warn their flock about how damaging that could be - c'mon man !

even so, i just like the music - dun wanna go acting out the lyrics in real life ...

hey scum - yes you are correct - alliwannadoislive is from follow the leader - 'children of the korn' ... well done

    YoYoMama -

do you believe that those saved will only be Jehovah's Witnesses?

    Scum:

Welcome, welcome, welcome. You have no idea how refreshing it is to have a Witness who is open minded visiting this forum! The majority that come onto this board can be extremely condescending and downright mean sometimes. It is a pleasure having you here so please stick around.

As a whole, the people in the Jehovah's Witness religion are loving and kind. I've know many in my life that were truly good people. However, I've noticed that this varied from congregation to congregation. Unfortunately, my congregation was nothing like yours. People were rarely loving and caring. They were too busy policing their brothers and sisters to catch them in wrongdoing to ever give each other a helping hand. At one point, I went through a very long depression and wasn't making it to many meetings. Not once did somebody stop by to see me. Just the opposite happened. People stopped associating with me because I wasn't regular. And this didn't just happen to me, several people got this type of treatment. I could go on for hours with stories.

Also, I just can't agree with the idea that there is only one true religion. After leaving the JW religion I met many many wonderful people from all different faiths and walks of life. It is hard for me to believe that god is going to kill those that aren't JWs. You have the Catholic religion, Buddists, Muslims, etc., religions that date back thousands of years and Jehovah's Witnesses say that their religion is the ONLY true religion? A religion that started at the end of the 1800s and was a branch of the seventh day adventists? I find that very hard to believe.

Also, please don't get offended if the people here get snippy on occasion. I think that people here get defensive because they've been emotionally kicked around. Because we have different beliefs than the Witnesses we are treated like leppers. Our families and friends have left us because we are unique individuals, with different ideas than theirs. There is nothing in this world as cruel and manipulative as that.

DIM: Being part of a religion, such as Jehovah's Witnesses, does not guarantee that you will be saved. This is on an individual basis, but to be saved we must be doing God's will as the Bible says. Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses helps me keep focus on doing God's will and I keep fed spiritually. I want to be with Jehovah's people and I want to see the vindication of his beautiful name.

yoyodubba - interesting statements and questions ...

((Will millions even billions perish? Yes))
is this the same prophesy as the one in the 1920s about 'millions now living will never die' and they did ?

((How many died in 70 C.E.?))
does this also apply to 'how many died' in 1975 ?

((More that a million Jews. Who's fault was it? Their own))
good thing you're not in the uk as the law is soon to change to make hatred based on religion unlawful - anti-semitism is an inheritance from rutherfords days !

thank you for reminding us why we don't frequent the dark places such as kingdom halls
