Think of your kids. They need you to set a good example. Think about what will happen to them if you quit! I think of that sickening voice of Miriam going AHHH AHHH!!!! Leprosy, AHHH!!!! on the old 1980's Moses and the wilderness casette tape. Remember?

All the guilt trips ever did to me was make me affraid to tell the family, not to stay in the org.

That "bounty of spiritual food weighing down the table of Jehovah" made me want to go home and eat real food, especially if that phrase was used during the loooooonnnnngggggggg WT study. Man, was I starving by then. Jehovah's table sure wasn't satisfying me.

The joy and enthusiasm of our African brothers..... poor bastards could be spending that energy and time into improving their countries, instead its to increase profit margins....

"If you want to be happy you need to go back to the Kingdom Hall."

Andre already said: 'the friends miss you' but my mom always adds "and when they ask about you I have no idea what to tell them so I just avoid people now."

'If you leave the trooth, then you'll lose your family and your home'

Funny thing is when my sister left the troof, went raising hell, pole dancing, getting pregnant, she lost neither.

When I left, I lost my mum and any kind of welcome into my family home.

    Double standards. Bl**dy hypoctrites!

    My paraphrase:

If you don't follow our direction, you will never see your dead sister again.

(They seem to hold the dead as hostage to make you obey their dictates)

If you get disfellowshipped, you won't get a resurrection

(only "good JWs" baptised and approved will be resurrected.)

Hey! Maybe this is why the resurrected are portrayed as Zombies in the movies!

Just as you are coming to the end of a 2 hour Sunday talk and getting your inner strength to go out on field service, the finishing speakers closing prayer most always was followed by,

'Now brothers and sisters I'm sure all who love Jehovah will be sure to be out witnessing about him straight after this meeting!'

Which always piled guilt on so even if you went out you could never be sure it was freely giving God your time coz you felt pressured into going out! The old adage a small gift with love.....etc worth more than a large one with resentment!

So whenever he said that I refused to go - and I think I was seen as rebellious!!,

The specious argument that my going in at a reasonable time would result in the deaths of countless thousands of innocent people that I should have "saved" by staying out until time for work.

I just have to repeat Tula's quote:

"They seem to hold the dead as hostage to make you obey their dictates." Brilliant! You are so right!
