Jesus was missing from the scripture for 18 years. He comes back with the nearly word for word teachings of the budist faith & then states he doesn't know the day or hour. Proof enough( well to me anyway) that he was just a very intelligent man very much the Tony Robbins of his day.

Not so fast, the word "generation" in that passage could mean race or nation.
Personally, I think that is a misusage of the greek word geneas. Maybe one of our resident scholars (read: Narkissos) can chime in. I don't think it is ever used with that sense anywhere else in Matthew.

I think this is the real reason the WTS has been so confused about the word generation. They can't see the simple explanation that it referred to the generation that Jesus spoke to and is now an irrelevant prophecy.

OTWO, I agree with what you've written, and laugh out loud when I hear people try and describe why Jesus didn't know what he was talking about... stars falling from the sky, all the world seeing him in a cloud. 2,000 years have passed and still no Jesus, even though he plainly says that these events will happen "Immediately" after the destress of those days... the Romans destroyed the temple in 70, if I'm not mistaken. Still no Jesus.
Words never have meaning whenever the Bible is being proved wrong by them, like the word "generation", it can't really mean generation it has to mean something else, like tribe, or group, or something, it can't mean what it means today becasue if it did the Jesus will be proven wrong. Sorry if we that actually read words use the meaning of them to understand the sentense in which they appear.
THe snake in the garden, its not a snake... and so on and so forth ad nausium... what if those of us the live in reality played by those rules... whatever we say isn't really what the words mean when they come from our mouths? YOu that defend this nonscense whould get angry as hell if we kept changing the debate, if our words always meant something else....
When OTWO, posted what he was discovering about the new Gosples and the like, he was doing as we all that seekt he real truth should do, reading with an open mind. Jesus was proven false when he died, he answered the so called question raised in the garden-yet still we suffer.... and his words as written in the BIble are proven false... keep making excuses, they don't work as far as I'm concerned.
If you start with a false premise......what can you expect?

a) the several ranks of natural descent, the successive members of a genealogy
b) metaph. a group of men very like each other in endowments, pursuits, character
1) esp. in a bad sense, a perverse nation
3) the whole multitude of men living at the same time
4) an age (i.e. the time ordinarily occupied be each successive generation), a space of 30 - 33 years
