I believe that god has given the ability to man to be able to muddle through life and generally make things better over time. This is not a straight line, but the general trend is up.

You can complain all you want about how bad things are but we have a relative stability and have a much better life that did our parents, grandparents and so on. I believe that our children will have a better life than us. I believe that their children will have a better life than their parents. And so on.

We have survived great tragedy and will survive future tragedies because god has given us a mind and the skills to cope with change

I believe that the creativeness of man will overcome high oil prices, global warming, and Britney Spears.

    That is my faith.

Also, in regards to death. I will worry about that after I die. I want to live now.

......but I have not given you much reason for it........

You want your family to be happy. You are reaching out for help, both
professionally and here. You ask questions and make comments
that shows you want to know "the truth" and share "the truth." You
have not given up. There's lots of reason for it.

I have faith that God knows what should happen and when. I have faith in a personal relationship with Jesus without any mediators or 3rd parties.

I have faith in myself and that's about all really. I don't have faith in god per se but believe that there are and will always be, things beyond our understanding, things which will likely be attributed by some to be the workings of what a god does or is responsible for. God used to ride in a flaming chariot across the sky over our flat earth but now we are told he still exists somewhere, everywhere all at once. He doesn't play dice though.

And when it's time, I turn to dust. End of story. If god deems anything to happen after that, thats it's prerogative not mine and I'll be happy to answer any questions then. Assuming it speaks.

Hi oompa - when I first left the faith I got very caught up in trying to prove and disprove doctrine that it became rather maddening - too many voices, too many opinions....so I stopped. I started to rather search me - I went inwards. The *I* of who I am became very important, because that's what life is about, discovering your own purpose, your own path, your own spirituality, realising you and god are one. You know what you need and only you can find it. I do not believe that there is only this life - simply because that is just not enough time to reveal your true self (some of old did achieve it, Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha) but many of us are a bit slow. I have a peace about all that goes on in the world, I have a peace about death - do I need to know all the answers NO - Why - well why do I need the answers in the first place?? to prove to someone else what I believe, to convert them to my way???

Each path is unique and therefore the answers won't be the same for everyone. But sooner or later we come to realise who we really are.
