Hell, my grandparents who were old time Bible Students - now long dead after living into their 80s, didn't expect to grow old in this system, nor did my now elderly parents. I am simply the latest in a growing line-up of gullible fools who brought completely into the belief that I didn't need a college education because the end is sooooooooo very, very, very near (I've since woken up and got my college and university education).

In the September 15th, 1941 issue of The Watchtower the expression “the remaining months before Armageddon” was used!
That was over 66 years ago! That is, over 792 months!
I want to find the brother who wrote that and ask him what happened, Armageddon never arrived!
(Let's see, if he was 30 years old at the time, then he would only be 96 years old now.)
Why should anyone believe anything written in The Watchtower? It is a magazine full of "valueles things".

Regarding Watchtower writers...Yes, go ahead and die off, you're only escaping being held accountable for the misleading and wrong information you have written.
The Watchtower will never admit that it has for years been misleading the people with smooth sounding words, partial information, and half truths, they just continue to keep on doing it!

So we are approaching the end of the first decade of the twenty first century ...It gets worse all the time for the dubs. I started to question the timing when the end of the millennium approached, now almost another ten years have passed . And what has happened? Nothing , naught, diddly squat, nix, scratch, zero, zilch,zippo, zot.....In fact , "All things are continuing exactly as from creations beginning"
I know that for statements like that I get hammered by the believing family- who accuse me of only being interested in my own salvation and giving up when the going got tough, but come on ? how long can you keep accepting the pathetic excuses and endless repetition of the nearness of the end?
A thinking man just has to cry "Enough!" and get out .

I was also told i would not graduate from high school. I was told that there was no way i would grow up in this system.. well.. i am going to be 29.. i am married.. and at last check i am definitely a adult now.. and still no Armageddon. Now if only i had gone to college..

Thats because the Big A came back in 75. Many folks sold their homes, didnt get educations or have families. We cant go through that again. One Armegeddon a millenium is enough.

WORLD TRAVELLER - I think an armageddon towards the Watchtower sounds just fine to me !
NOSFERATU - I will be fifty in a couple years - I think I will think even more about how we were all duped when I hit that milestone ! Then I will turn up the heat even more intensity level wise on getting my 2 adult daughters out of the witnesses ! I just hate seeing them waste their life ! And also my prospective grandchildren's lives! But as some have said - I don't think much about it now - as I believe it's an unreality , it was never real - so it never was going to happen -

That is why they changed the "sealing" of the annointed in 1935, and the new "generation" revision. It has nothing to do with Holy Spirit, it has everything to do with being tied to a calendar! Armageddon will be "imminent" indefinitely.
