I too thought that the end would arrive when I was 21, so why bother with all the work of an education. Besides, my parents were sure they would never grow old and die in the wicked old system of things. They both lived to 86 and died. It makes me sad and angry at the same time. Those arrogant bastards in NY need to be held accountable, just like the Nazis. Like Bill Maher said, it's just arrogance masquerading as humility.

The comments about the end of the first decade of the century really is sobering for me. I remember it being a big deal when it was 2000. Not that I thought the end was coming, but it was a real milestone. It sure is true that the older you get the faster it goes.

I know where you are coming from but there is a slight difference between the wtbts and the nazi's well namely a few million deaths. People will only ever be free from them when they learn to let it go. They have had so many years of peoples lives I find it sad that in some cases years after they left the JW's still hold a huge mental grip on people

My sources at the inner sanctum in the bOrg have told me in good confidence that the bOrg has scheduled Harm-A-GetItOn for 2009.

We all feel the same way...In the year 1975 I was 7 years old and I still remember all the anxiety that JW's had regarding that date...

I remember when they announced the scedule for the assembleys for 1977, and many said in the cong that for sure we will have them in the "new system"!!!

Unfortunately WT marked our life for ever...with their lies and false prophesies, and giving us nothing for the future...My dad gave everything for the WT until he died at the age of 80, still waiting for armageddon to come, and sure that WT was the "true".

Now I see my ex-wife teaching my small kids that the end is near and it really gets me mad...I recall one day when I got agry and said that the only end you will see it is the end of your life!!! And believe me you will see that end...I don't want you telling the kids about that crap anymore...Don't you realize that you spend half of your life supporting a lie? My grand father died waiting for the end, and so my grand mother..My father died waiting for the end and nothing happened. Stop repeating the same mistake for Christ sake...There is 150 years recorded false prophecy of the WT...and the end NEVER CAME...AWAKE UP...

As the result of the WT's Armageddon most of us are uneducated, even quit school for pioneering like my self, and actually no planning for the future...

Propably next year someone else will write about the year 2009 and that Armageddon didn't come,,,

The Watchtower doesn't care if it teaches a false hope that people believe in throughout their lives and that is never fullfilled. The Watchtower only cares that that people support the Organization with their time, energy and money while they are alive. After a person is dead they are of no further use to them.

The Watchtower is bankrupt without its followers!

An illusion is all The Watchtower gives in return to the loyal support they receive.

After a person is dead they are of no further use to them.

An example of this is the Watchtower's Staten Island cemetery where the Bethel people were at one time buried. The Watchtower did not want to pay the extra expense involved so, no markers on any of the graves, just grass! How inconsiderate. Loyalty to the Organization is demanded, but no loyalty is shown to the follower.

There was an interesting show about the events that are suppose to lead to armageddon on the discovery channel. Many of the events I had never heard of. It was also interesting to hear how other religions interpreted various scriptures.

So much for Armageddon coming in 1988 or 1989, as I was told that it would when I studied. In fact, the Crapmorial table of 1989 was supposedly the last, and I heard that people getting disfellowshipped in 1988 would not have time to go back (I have since seen two different people each get disfellowshipped twice and reinstated twice since 1988).

Then it was not supposed to have gotten past the end of 1995. Since then, it is more than 12 years past, and still no sign of Armageddon. And, we have seen Y2K with nothing more than a whimper--no Armageddon. We also went through their stupid attempt to set off the Great Tribulation with that NR37 campaign, with nothing more than a few million wasted pieces of paper that are still polluting the landfill.

Yes, I believe 2011 is going to come and go. So will 2012, 2014, and 2034. Anyone that thinks Armageddon is coming and is willing to waste the time and energy proclaiming it is not thinking clearly.

Well, it finally dawned on me that all those furniture stores that tell you that you don't have to pay for 15 months, etc, "Don't pay till 2009" really do believe those days are coming, else they wouldn't give you your furniture now on the premise that they will collect in 15 months...they're making a killing off all the people that somehow just don't get it that time PASSES, whether you want it to or not.

I remember all the Witnesses joking about the "Freedom 55" life insurance policies...I wonder who is laughing now?

A still-in recently confided that he felt Armageddon was so close, he could 'smell' it?!!!! DELUSIONAL I can 'smell' something too, and it STINKS!
