God's spirit-directed organization?Ha ha, that's funny.....
Maybe it's funny now....but wasn't there a time when you bought it?
excerpt:
an esoteric group, the man who is "publicly showing himself to be a god"?
Jehovah's Witnesses are taught by this same organization that the above vows are essential for salvation as confirmed in the following quote from the January 15th 1989 Watchtower Magazine on page 15:
"Baptismal candidates must acknowledge publicly that on the basis of Jesus' sacrifice they have repented of their sins and have dedicated themselves to Jehovah. They must also understand that dedication and baptism identify them as Jehovah's Witnesses."
"The entire baptismal arrangement, including this public expression of faith, is essential for salvation."
So in these new baptismal vows the name of the Father is Jehovah. The name of the son is Jesus. In addition we now have the man whose name is:-
"God's Spirit Directed organization"
What do y'all think about this?
If Jesus is the key, who is the door?
Thanks for all the info! I really didn't mean to get into the baptism issue that heavily, but I'm just trying to find out everything I can about the organization. I don't know what my opportunities for bringing the real truth out to my hubby will be, so I need to know everything. The book I read (20 questions Jehovah's Witnesses can not answer) really made it seem like Jesus was the key to the whole difference between JW's and Christians. The book was written by a fellow who was "in" for 30 years, along with his wife. I have to say it was somewhat helpful, but poorly written and the 20 questions are really more like 10 or 15 because several of the questions are either one question asked in two parts, or the same question asked in a different way. Proplog2- what is your problem??? Pardon me for not being an emperor like you, I'm just a newbie trying like hell to gain knowledge so I can save my hubby from being sucked into the pit of lies that is the JW's!
Potential JW Wife:
If it is indeed a pit of lies you should have no problem convincing your husband.
By the way, what Christian organization would you rather see him join? You name it and I'll show you that it also is a pit of lies and hypocrisy?
By the way nobody pays any attention to the number of posts. If you actually count them up you will find that those with the largest number of posts generally are tossing out one liners and emoticons.
2050: Jesus = key heaven/salvation = door Proplog2: I'd almost rather see him join anyone else than the JW's. Or none at all. In my opinion you don't have to be a member of a religious organization to be a Christian, you only have to accept Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior, and attempt to live your life as He instructed. Like I said, I'm a newbie, I have no idea how the rankings are established. BTW, going back to your first post if you'll notice my avatar is a peace symbol. I've never killed anyone and don't advocate violence in any form. Peace and Light to you.
Potential JW wife:
Actually, of all the religions other than JW's I probably could be comfortable as a Catholic.
They are now anti-war. They accommodate evolution. Their respect for life goes beyond anti-abortion and includes anti-capital punishment. To me those are really important issues.
Unfortunately, there are too many Catholics that don't follow the current teachings of their bishops.
Peace

First, let me say that the WTS is an evil entity.
One of it's strongholds is that it has mixed lies with the Truth, thus making it's grip a little stronger.
You were all warned about the branding power of icons and image symbols. There is a truth in that. You should not eagerly buy into something you have not researched and accept an explanation based on heresay.
You should know what you are promoting.
Although not a hand sign, the peace symbol itself needs to be examined.
"Known as the 'peace sign' throughout the 1960's and into the present day, this symbol is the Teutonic rune of death. 1950's peace advocate Gerald Holtom may have been commissioned by communist sympathiser Bertrand Russell to design a symbol to unite leftist peace marchers in 1958. It is clear that either Holtom or Russell deemed the Teutonic (Neronic) cross as the appropriate symbol for their cause.
"The symbol's origin in history proves it to be the visual mystic character for 'Aum' (the split 'Y'). This is the sacred word to the Hindu. Chanting 'Aum' is supposed to help awaken 'the serpent power of Brahma' at the base of the human spine. Occultist Albert Pike also identifies this symbol as mystical in his book on Freemasonry Morals and Dogma.
"The Germanic tribes who used it attributed strange and mystical properties to the sign. Such a 'rune' is said to have been used by 'black magicians' in pagan incantations and condemnations....To this very day the inverted broken cross--identical to the socialists' 'peace' symbol--is known in Germany as a 'todersrune,' or death rune. Not only was it ordered by Hitler's National Socialists that it must appear on German death notices, but it was part of the official inscription prescribed for the gravestones of Nazi officers of the dread SS. The symbol suited Nazi emphasis on pagan mysticism.''
With the arms of the cross raised in an upright position, it is "a Pythagorean emblem of the course of life, in the form of a rising path with fork roads to Good and Evil.'' It also signifies fertility, but with the arms pointing downward, it denotes evil and death.

Tula, you are a fountain of knowledge! I had heard some of these ideas about the symbol back in the 70's as a kid. To me it is a peace symbol...I liked it even more because this one has all the flowers on it, so it's even more hippie-ish. Maybe I should've used a photo of someone flashing the hand sign instead...If we were anywhere else I'd simply use my photo, but you'll understand if here I prefer to remain "Anonymous".
