[email protected] have Emus in the wild?..I`ve seen them on farms but not in the wild..The snow is 3ft deep here..And..It`s below Zero....I doubt an Emu could survive here..There are too many predators and the weather is treacherous..And..This bird can fly..The tracks were just in one area, then it was just gone......................Satanus..An Eagle has 4 toes..This bird has 5..And..It`s feet are as big as my hand...............OUTLAW

Totally freaky! Can't seem to find anything on google in regards to a five toed bird. Even the fossil records all seem to be the typical three toes. Curiouser and Curiouser replied Alice! I say thunderbird with a wonky foot FTW! lol...honestly though it's very strange.

..BetweenWorlds..The birds in this area have 3 or 4 toes.....4 toes: 3 in the front,1 in the back.....3 toes: 3in the front and a heel in the back..Not a toe.....Without the extra "Middle Toe".I would say this bird is an "Eagle".....My best guess Is..This is a very large Eagle, with an Extra middle Toe,on each Foot..A "Deformity"............................

OUTLAW- O. K. bud, the jig is up ! I now know you have finally found the flying version of Bigfoot ! That explains the big tracks ! You have somehow precariously stumbled upon the missing link to prehistoric winged apes !
That- or either you are drinkin' a bit too much Tequila tonight ! I know I am ! LOL! Peace out, Mr. Flipper P.S. Take some pictures ! -

I'm wondering if the bird you may be referring to is none other than the: ptarmigan.
They do have big feet for a bird, and can survive incredibly cold temperatures.
My friend was up north in Yellowknife, she saw them there and it was considered a bit unusual that they were that far south. If you can call any area around Great Slave Lake, south.
Apparently, ptarmigan have been spotted south in central Saskatchewan.
They're cute little buggers, but have feet somewhat like snowshoes.
Not sure if this is what you've come across, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Look up: ptarmigan
