There really aren't any landmarks to speak of in my hometown of San Carlos, CA but we had some pretty nice views of the San Francisco Bay Area from the San Carlos hills where I grew up:

This is the entrance to a place called Fioli Mansion and Garderns, just west of San Carlos off hwy 280. My Dad used to clean the offices there and we helped when we were kids. Beautiful place, spooky at night:

Thank you LS and Mrs.Jones. Both are such lovely views. I took the train from Denver to Emeryville and I could see the Golden Gate Bridge, way off in the distance. Then we caught the Coast Starlight up to Portland. I didn't get to see Ranier, but did get to see Mt. Shasta.

I have lived in some beautiful places, but I never thought of having a hometown. I have moved too much (Navy brat). I envy those of you that have a hometown.

Wings, I've lived a lot of places, too. I've lived in 13 states and 22 cities, small towns and villages. I'd say that at least three are my hometowns. Just pick your favorites and share. Where did you get to live?

XJW, I have been to Taos and the Pueblo. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The Red Willow People who live at the Pueblo? My son was 8 at the time and he called them the Red Walking Dudes when talking about the trip that night. We stayed in Red River. Very fun. We also visited Cimarron on that trip. New Mexico truly is the Land of Enchantment. My sister lives down in Truth or Consequences.

Black Pearl, I have not been to Idaho, but from what I have seen, it's a beautiful, serene place.

God, that's gorgeous, Mrs. Jones. It makes me think of the movie A Walk In the Clouds. Almost like Italy or Spain.
