    wow, your dad died and your mother had a stroke. Heavy! I feel for you, but you didn't want sympathy so I'm glad the others have come up with some jokes. I don't have any jokes, but I have a cat who steals and then brings all sorts of little things to bed during the night. So, for instance, I might wake up and find that he has put a couple of cords from my flash drives, a couple of little drawstring bags, very tiny, a pot holder, a hair ball and a tiny sock with catnip on my bed. Very funny. He has such a sweet face, too. You wouldn't guess that he goes around the house stealing little things and hiding them.

    I need some advice. I took a notion to invite about 25 people to my house for a buffet dinner in two weeks. Now I'm thinking about what to cook. What do you recommend as a tasty meal that people can eat buffet style, that I can do at least partly ahead of time, that isn't the same old thing?

    Hi Wings, I am sorry you are going thru all of this. It can get very lonely at times even if surrounded by people. You are doing well to reach out. Don't stop.

    I'm a sucker for cooking kunundrums...so Hortensia, how about something easy and good. Like pork tenderloin with a chipolte lime glaze, potatoes baked in a 4 cheese sauce, and a fresh salad with steamed green beans or asparagus. 25 people is a handful, it would take 5 tenderloins, two large pans for the potatoes, and a hugh salad bowl. Maybe mexican.

    Okay.....so.....my dad died Monday night. My mom had another stroke yesterday, and she can't talk anymore. My sister won't talk to me because I asked my daughter (the looser) to come home and help me with the kids. I was losing IT before this happened, now I'm toast.

    Let me give you a hug. Thats too much for anybody to bear.
