Lucky me! Mrs. Conflicted is digging pregnant sex - she's only six months right now, so that may change, but up till now I have no complaints at all

I just had to jump in on this one. I am with Mommy. Pregnant sex was the absolute best sex EVER for me. Just thinking about how excited I would get still gives me the shivvers .... God bless that second trimester!!!! I have found though that it has been hard getting back into the groove post pregnancy. My boy is six and a half months old now and I am just now getting back into the "swing" of things. Hosting a "fun" party last week helped a lot though!

    LOL Bobs girl!
It is hysterical I hardly ever join in any sex convos on this board. But I jumped in head first on this one I have heard of these "fun parties" I want to go too

    Ianao,
It has been reported to me, from a young girl that she knows of several stories of woman having babies a few months after their baby. Of course all of the stories she told me happened about 40 years ago You have piqued my interest. I am assuming if this has happened it is a fluke, or a miscalculation on someone's part. I would love to read anything scientific on this. And by scientific I don't mean National Enquirere I will do some research tomorrow, and see if there are any more concrete examples.

    Hey Mommy.

    Well, since you asked...

    From http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=superfetate

    su·per·fe·tate (spr-ftt)
    intr.v. su·per·fe·tat·ed, su·per·fe·tat·ing, su·per·fe·tates
To conceive when a fetus is already present in the uterus.

    And here is another link...

I don't know if it's real, but it's in the dictionary. *shrug*.

    Oh, here is another link...

    also

The formation of a fetus at the result of an impregnation occurring after another impregnation but before the birth of the offspring produced by it. This is possible only when there is a double uterus, or where menstruation persists up to the time of the second impregnation. In then became a superfetation upon, and not an ingredient in, the national character. --Coleridge.

    Wendy,

It has been reported to me, from a young girl that she knows of several stories of woman having babies a few months after their baby.

One documented example, quite recent: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/health/newsid_1651000/1651259.stm

According to all reports I heard, this was the first time this was ever recorded and confirmed. The Dr interviewed in the article also says he's never heard of it before.

The fact that her second pregancy is triplets (!), indicates strongly she's used fertility drugs, though she denies it.

For some reason I remember a story (Newsweek - early 80's?) that talked about twins. I remember it because I've got twin brothers.

But the article talked about 4 different types of twins.

    1. Identical - a fertilized egg splits creating two embryos that are mirror twins. (One placenta and one shared embryonic sac.)

    2. Fraternal - two eggs fertilized by two separate sperm, creating two embryos no different than non twin siblings. (Two placentas and two embryonic sacs.)

    3. Fraternal - an egg splits before fertilization, but is fertilized by two separate sperms. (I know this can happen - this is what my brothers were. They had one placenta and two separate embryonic sacs.) Very rare - they don't know what causes the egg to split before fertilization.

    4. Fraternal - two eggs fertilized by two separate sperm from different fathers, creating two embryos no different than non twin siblings. (Also two placentas and two embryonic sacs. This can only happen when a woman has been with two men in a very short span of time.) This is also rare, but not impossible.

I just thought you'd find this interesting...

You'd have to be a pretty "busy" woman for something like that to happen! Know anyone like that?

Go therefore and baptize the people in the name of the father and of the son... what the hell, we just need to bring up the yearbook numbers!

Very interesting I read the article and I shocked! It seems feasible that she did take some type of fertilty drug or female hormone after she was already preggers. I understand that taking female hormones increases sexual pleasure for woman, so perhaps she is too scared to admit to doing this.

Funny I did a search on this and the BBC article is the only thing I have found so far. I will keep looking though

Well, I always have said...never say never. But the possibilities of this happening without any outside help is damn near impossible! lol

Mommy, sorry I have to put my 2 cents in. (but keep doing your research) I have personally had a patient that had twins (boy/girl) that were gestational 4 weeks apart. She ovulated 4 weeks after she was preg. and conceived her girl of the "twins". They Dubawitzed out to be 4 weeks difference, not a discordinate twin syndrome (that happens with idential twins). Also, you may have heard in England that a woman had twins with one being "mixed" race. FOB black, the other's white! Busy lady. You're right, never say never.

Well Mommy, looks like you need to lay off the bootie-knocking if you are menstrating (sp?) during your pregnancy!
