I'm not much of a classical music person. But if you can dance to it then I'm not complaining, provided I am dancing and not sitting there wishing I was. I prefer jazz and big band though. And of course I'm a big Classic Rock fan!

I love hard rock 'n roll,(as a JW, that's about all I liked) but I'm learning to like Jazz, I like classical music, and, at risk of ridicule...

I LOVE Enya! Her voice reduces me to unrecognizable goo.

I used to listen to classical music a lot when I was little (going through ma & pa's record collection) but I stopped listening to is as much more recently. In fact, I'm probably not into are and musics as much as I once was (I used to draw & paint and write music once y'know) ... it's all the fault of computers that kill creativity because they are so much fun.

I'd like to get into classical music again but you really need some peace and quiet to enjoy it with the volume up full ... hard to do with our terrors. I guess I'll have to dig my headphones out.

I used to listen to all sorts, all the usual Mozart etc... plus:

    Elgar (cello concerto ... ahhh)
Rhakmaninov (rhapsody on a theme of paginnini)
    Prokiev (romeo & juliet)

(spelling is probably a bit 'phonetic' BTW)

I did like the bits of opera that I've heard but never really had the time to get into it. Perhaps I'll splash out on a DVD for myself if anyone has any good recomendations.

I like The Jam...as they were called. 'Down The Tube Station At Midnight' was a classic.

For the record, I dislike Jazz, with a passion. The music irritates me and puts me in a bad mood, like too much coffee. I hate the way it makes me feel.

I love Classical, some opera too. I love Pucinni, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaicovsky (that is probably misspelled), Rimsky Korsakov, Brahms, and especially Strauss.

My favorite is Soft Rock, and oldies. I like Big Band too.

I forgot to say, "I am out". Not a JW anymore.

I also love almost anything Andrew Lloyd Webber writes. Phantom, Whistle Down the Wind, Joseph and the Amazing Tech. Dream Coat, Sunset Blvd., etc.

We had a wonderful evening last night with Makena and his wife. He played piano, Gershwin, and some of his own compositions too. Then he played Phantom of the Opera songs, and I sang along. Fortunately I can read music, to keep up with the lyrics. It was so much fun. If I hadn't had a frog in my throat, it would have been even better. At least I can carry a tune, even if I don't have a great voice.

Makena, you played Rhapsody in Blue, just beautifully.

    Great evening!!!

Like Mozart a great deal. The Queen on the night aria is breathtaking and intense! My father in law is a great classical music buff, so he was my first intro to anything classical really.

I'm a big old time music, bluegrass fan as well! I play clawhammer banjo m'self. Love Joe Val and the new england bluegrass boys, especially when Karl Lauber was playing banjo with them. (Karl is supremely talented, and a sweetheart to boot) You out there Karl? Hope to see you here someday hon! ((hugs))
