Humans aren't the only animals that show homosexual behavior, so it must be natural after all. Also, I wonder why religions are so damned concerned about everyone's sex life? Esp. the WTBTS and other extreme fundamental groups like Muslims. Sex IS natural, otherwise there wouldn't be very many people on earth and they'd all be perverts, by this logic! So what's the point of trying to control a natural behavior with loads of idiotic rules? One difference, as has been pointed out, is that pedophiles victimize children. Homosexuals just have sex with others of the same sex.

Is homosexuality a criminal offense according to established secular laws? Homosexual activity is not illegal in my state or country. If I go to the police to report that my neighbors are gay, they wouldn't care. My neighbors are adults, and as long as they're not doing it in the front yard, the cops don't care. Illegal drugs can be prosecuted by law. Drunk driving is against the law just to get behind the wheel because of what might happen as a result. Murder is a crime, someone's life was unjustly cut short. Pedophilia and rape are both very illegal with lengthy prison terms, followed by a permanant record as a threat to neighborhoods. Some things are different in other countries. Evidently you live where homosexuality is criminal, but pedophilia is not. Though, in my experience as being raised a jw ... the elders are more apt to jump on someone being accused of being a homosexual than they are of someone molesting a child in the hall. I grew up w/ a kid who was very effeminate and they were constantly "counseling" him about his conduct. However, there was a MS who was later moved from one hall to another (we never knew why til later when he as charged w/ sexual crimes against a minor in his neighborhood) and he left the one hall as a MS and was quickly appointed a MS at his new hall (which we found out that there were rumors of him being inappropriate w/ some girls at a pool party). The poor kid I knew that they suspected of being a homosexual, was kicked out of his parents house and ultimately df'd. And yes, he was in fact gay, but he did not have any type of relationship with another guy til after he left the religion and finally accepted who he was.
So, based on what I have seen ... they will do a witch hunt on someone the suspect is gay, but they will turn a blind eye to a pedophile. So I think to them, it is worse to be gay then to abuse minors.

Against nature? Do you mean it's against nature in the sense that no other creatures exhibit the same kind of behaviour, except of course for the behaviour that has been observed in other creatures? Or do you mean it is unnatural in the sense that it can't produce children, like barren women and infertile men? Or unnatural in the sense of being against default instinctive behaviour, like playing tennis? In just what way is it unnatural for those who feel it is natural for them?

I love these arguments that the witnesses try to use to defend the wts and they make themselves look worse. The "15 year old plastered with makeup was asking for it" defense is disgusting. To act like the adult is the victim because of how the 15 year old looked is a joke. The other defense that i see that is common is the "well there are alot of false reporting by children who just get mad at their father and it turns out they lied about the abuse and the father lost everything." thats like saying we should get rid of 911 because there are sometimes fake calls made. as far as homosexuals, witnesses view it as a worse sin than adultery or fornication, which is wrong. its equal in the Bible. as far as if homosexuality is natural, i dont think there is a conclusive answer. logically it would seem that homosexuality for the most part is something people are born with. no one would intentially pick a life style that is so opposed and hated in modern society. and as far as their ultimate judgement, well, if Jesus died for all of us to cover our sins, and homosexuality is a condition caused by imperfection, it would not make sense to destroy all homosexuals. of course this is not the witness thinking. hell, at talks its borderline gay bashing sometimes, and i cringe if there are any gay people in the audience.

hortensia- you speak of other animals that engage in homosexual behavior..how often does that occur? we are suppose to be higher than the animals, correct? as far as private lives of individuals i agree that peoples sex lives should be private but obviously if God mentioned this practice,homosexual, in the Bible then it must be of importance...maybe i dont know why God is against it except that He created the universe and wanted the earth to be populated and i figure since He made us then He has the right to tell us what to do and what the consequences are if we dont obey.
