I have always been a sucker for a good soppy love song, which automatically excludes Paul MacCartney from entering this thread in any way, shape or form.

Last night I was wading through my huge vinyl collection, pulled an album long-not heard and spun this track on the rack. Though penned almost forty years ago, I have to say, it is still a very handsome song indeed.

Marty Balin, guitars and voice, with Grace Slick on flute.

Well, you must admit that it beats "I'm gonna eviscerate ma bitch Kate", though given the relationship between Balin and Slick he was probably thinking, "I'm gonna displace the face of Grace".

Okay, submerge me in soppy love songs that will have me sobbing like Michael Buble at a personality conference. I will let you know if they work.

    Shut up Burn.

Just saw this today. Though a little different than yours, I thought it was touching and nice. You may even shed a tear or two...

This song by Clannad from Last of the Mohicans still makes me cry. Simple words. Beautiful music. And this video is heartbreaking. And it helps that the guy is soooooooooo hot! alt

I wish you could embed youtube vids here without them starting automatically like on other sites.

Setting the Beatles and Led Zeppelin aside, Surrealistic Pillow was hands-down the best album of the '60s. Just my biased opinion.
