Mr. Blue ... Laura Nyro Dedicated To The One I Love ... Laura Nyro
Spot on with both these songs, rhough of course "Dedicated" is a cover. "Christmas and the Beads Of Sweat" is imo one of the most important albums ever produced it is genre. This is "Blackpatch" and "Save the Country" from that album. Laura Nyro wrote way beyond her years and most of her most "famous" songs were penned when she was just a teenager. "And When I Die" for example, when she was just sixteen or seventeen. Her later work was quite astounding and it is hard to understand why such a huge talent flew so far below the radar until you look at the mass tastes cooked in the kitchens of the record companies. Most people are as happy with junk music as they are with junk food. There are many singers and many poets, but few who quite perfectly are able to marry the two as Laura Nyro did. HS

Maclean's younger sister Maria Mckee is a wonderful singer as well.
Yes, I met her in Dublin many years ago, and had no idea that Bryan MacLean even had a half sister but I kept looking at her chin, just knowing that I had seen it somewhere else...lol. While wishing her the very best I admit that I have never been quite able to tune into her musical style.
