Wow, thanks for that.
Is says that he is here invisibly, then it takes it back... or am I not reading it correctly ?
Actually, I think this is reflecting on the complex understanding what what "parousia" is versus "second coming." But regardless of that, since they apply the 7-times prophecy to 1914, for all intents and purposes, this is the "return" of Christ that should have ended the Lord's Supper.
It reminds me of the assemly in the summer of 1975, where there was all this super hype about how basically they were expecting Armageddon, and how they were tentatively now having to plan for some coventions next year, but only because you need to book these events far in advance. But all the "confidence" was there that this was it! You know how they have those final announcements at the end of the convention about what's coming up. Then they announced, in the meantime, that Bethel was buying new printing presses and going all out to expand the preaching work!!! In spite of expecting Armageddon any day now? I remember LAUGHING to myself and shaking my head and thinking -- somebody at Bethel isn't buying this 1975 B.S. and they are not taking any chances. Christ is not going to catch them slack of hand when he returns and they are going all-out and building more presses and expanding even more aggressively than before. They are not slowing down but speeding up!!! I knew that somewhere down the road, some of them were not buying their own beliefs. If Armageddon came that year, then great. But if not, they were going to be doing was commanded.
Some things are acknowledged, but not truly believed.
