I believe it to be jesus is michael because of the , bruise you in the heel and bruise you in the head scripture in genesis then later in revelation it's michael waring with the demonic hoards and kicks them out of heaven , which is the bruise to the serpents head for told about . IMO

Hi Rebel .... I looked up the text in the diaglott.. and the word 'an' or 'the' is not in the original greek. Just simply chief angel.. So hence, it would not mean there were more than one... archangel..

I agree Heathen.. That is pretty much the clincher.. We only have one saviour, not 2. Dan..12:1. also shows Michael as the one who stands up for us in the Great Trib.

You know, Jesus is having a second coming.. and his presence may be invisible to the world in general. But to the sons of light, they must recognize him before the world, in my understanding. Knowing his name, may be important..in this very important event.

So, the translator must insert the 'an', 'the' or 'a', in how they think it fits with the paragraph. That is way, I assume, some say 'an archangel' and some say 'the archangel'...

Is it true that the name JEHOVAH or YHWH appears ZERO TIMES in the New Testament? Is it odd that Jesus did not use God's name NOT ONCE ... even in prayer? Not even to teach his apostles to use the Divine Name in prayer? What is the WTBTS take on that?

Sacalton Jesus used FATHER - and saying HO THEOS (the god) the Jews already knew who that was meant for (the god of the old testament). Remember GOD's name was never pronounced in the Old Testament - Tetragrammaton- YWHW..The names that are NOW pronounceable came after..In fact Jews use to say ADONAI (sp?), they NEVER tried to say his name even till this day - they do not.

Yep, new truth, that is also part of my understanding since michael does stand up and the dead are resurrected (Daniel-12:1-2), funny how that sounds how the new testament puts it about jesus .

In Greek, there is only a DEFINITE ARTICLE "the" there is no INDEFINITE ARTICLE - so there are going to be some sterling rules. In English we have a definite one "the" and indefinite "a". So taking a look at your bible in the New Testatment, you will see that the word "A" is all over for obvious reason, translation will do so (and this isnt just with Greek to English but Greek to other languages as well). If the Greek original skips using the THE (HO), then allot of the times its means indefinites, then translation will go through a series to make sure when to use "THE" or "A"..Its obvious though that there are times where doctrines are involved and we get bad translations using these two articles
