Why is it flimsy? They think magic is bad, so only "agree" to it's inclusion if the magic is not "glorified". I don't agree with the "WOLers" notions though, I mean... I would tell my children it's a movie and all make believe. What is the harm as long as the child understands that it is not real? I mean, there is a difference between childhood and adulthood, right? I guess some people never mature.

its flimsy because if they started to think about the disney movies they have in mind as 'allowable magic,' they would realize that the 'good' people use magic too, usually just a more sanitized version of it. of course, every parent should personnaly decide what they allow, but the idea that we can apply a simple scriptural principle to movies and say, 'look. this is so simple. heres the rule. if it doesnt pass its bad. no grey area there,' is ridiculous and stupid.
fans of japanese anime may remember a popular hayao miyazaki childrens movie called 'kiki's delivery service' that was generally not allowed to JW kids for similar reasons.

My daughter is 8 and is reading the HP books for the third time! (Is that obsessive?? lolol)Gee, maybe the demons have taken her over and I haven't even noticed! MY god! What if they have me and I don't know???
Er...sorry...got carried away a bit. Anyway..ahem...we have our tickets purchased and are going to see the movie as soon as the kids get out of school tomorrow. We've been waiting totally impatiently for this movie to come out!!! I think I'm more excited than the kids!

All the JWs that protest will just do one or more of the following:
1. Go to a town where they aren't known and see it.
2. Wait till it comes out on video and watch it at home. Just be sure to lock up your videos so visiting elders and/or brothers and sisters can't check for forbidden videos.
