    yes joseph,

This post is a breath of fresh air. I've been trying to tell all these losers about the true God for months! Of course God exists outside Brooklyn otherwise the clocks wouldn't work, naturaly God cares, otherwise he wouldn't have created salt to go with pepper or lemons to go with fish or do people think strawberries and cream just happened to find themselves?

dieting unclebruce, so grateful to men unlocking natures culnary secrets (like the divinely inspired dago who invented the cappicino machine)

PS: I worship my God from afar but one day we'll do lunch.

SaintSatan: You and I have much in common. .. the munroe institute eh? lol.

Yes. I believe that God cares about all of us so much that he manifested himself in the person of Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

While I'm like to share my beliefs I don't think it is my duty to pound them into your heads. I spent enough time being arrogant when I was a dub. I have noticed that many leaving the Watchtower have a very hard time with any religion afterwards. This doesn't surprize me.

I think that some parts of the Bible are there, not to provide answers, but to make us think about the questions.

Mindchild said -In all honesty, I can honestly say that I think there is practically no chance at all for a God (as taught by the Bible) to exist and have created the universe. I'm so sure of my choice, I put my money where my mouth is and stake my life on it.

(Actually you stake your eternal soul on it)

Do you know how many blades of grass are in Texas stadium? What about how many hairs are on your head? Do you know how many white blood cells are in your body right now? How about right.....NOW! Of course not. BUT,
if you were God, you would be all knowing, and you would know absolutely everything about everyone and every situation -ever.. If you had all knowledge, you would be thoroughly acquainted with every detail in history, including the secret love life of 2 fleas on the
back of Napoleon's Great Grandmothers black cat. Let's just say for the sake of
argument, that you, Mindchild, have an amazing 1% of *all* knowledge there is in
the universe. Is it possible in the remaining 99% that there is a God and that He created the universe and revealed Himself in Jesus Christ? I think if you are honest with yourself you would agree that yes, in the
remanining 99% there are probably alot of things that you have no idea about.

SaintSatan, you sound very confused (and I don't say that to be argumentative). It seems that you think that there is a higher power but he is not concerned with us, kind of like an absentee father. This higher power sees all the injustices in the world and ignores them. Doesnt sound like much of a higher power to me. Sounds like a cruel god in fact. Doesnt care that that girl was whipped to death with a cord by her parents. Could totally care less. That's a sad view friend.

Have to agree with Mindchild on this one.

Unclepenn1, not sure what you're trying to say there, but it seems to have little to do with the question at hand. Part of the great argument in my mind against believing in a god is the incredible inability of this "god" to reveal himself in a reasonable way. Perhaps he's spending too much time counting those blades of grass had head hairs! I have no doubt about the existence of George W. Bush. Just watched him on the news. God ought to be able to convince me of his existence as easily as Geo. W has.

And this has nothing to do with any traumatic experience as a Witness. It simply comes from starting to think about things, the evidence of science, and moving beyond the shallow level of spirituality that needs to believe that a mythology is literal and real. Unfortunately, that seems to be where the vast majority of the world's religions got bogged down.

A lot of Witnesses who leave don't turn to an atheistic view because of the trauma of leaving. They've simply grown up spiritually. Others leave and want, not a genuine spiritual transformation, but simply a different translation of the same old shallow mythology. It's too scary for many out here without someone who's going to save your soul for you.

    Unclepenn,

"Let's just say for the sake of argument, that you, Unclepenn, have an amazing 1% of *all* knowledge there is in the universe. Is it possible in the remaining 99% that there is an Invisible Pink Unicorn and that It created the universe and revealed Himself in Thor? I think if you are honest with yourself you would agree that yes, in the remanining 99% there are probably alot of things that you have no idea about."

There is just as much evidence for the Invisible Pink Unicorn and Thor as there is for the Christian God (none). Somehow with all of that untapped knowledge out there you have settled on the Christian god out of all of the other infinite possibilites. May I ask on what evidence this decision was based?

Who among you still believe that underneath the layers of contradictions, inconsistencies, and errors in the Bible there may be found the words of a god who created the universe, and who also cares about you, personally?

Contradictions? I believe the Bible can be harmonize from Genesis to Revelation and so no contradictions. That having been said .... I STILL BELIEVE!
