The same happened to my father. He had faded for personal reasons (men not teachings) and regularly visited the German board. Then he went back, says the Internet is full of lies and shuns me. I do not get it but I have to accept it. Maybe Platons Cave Analogy is the answer.

The cool thing about it is we will probably see your kids on this board 20 years from now, happy to be free, but wishing their Mom would leave.

Bingo. Kingdom hall is no place for kids, it's no life for a child growing up as a jw. What I've been through (as with most of us born-ins here) I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Sure, they'll love bomb you for a while, they want more bums on their seats. Study to discuss your doubts? They'll indoctrinate you with the latest light.

    Reniaa,

Result! she came back this week and said "all I had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that I had expressed i now had.

Give it time. If you were baptized you will be approached for a sit down with the elders to go over your history. It may take a few months of regular meeting attendance, but it will eventually happen. If you have moved to a new hall they are also going to want your records from the old hall.

    Don't get too comfy.

Thanks Brinjen, actually after rethinking that post, I don't see it as cool at all, in fact I pity those children for having to endure it. I just meant to say that it will be cool to have more future apostates.

Oh by the way, here is a news flash--JW's lie.

This same thing happened to someone who had been out for years, he casually asked about returning and they made it sound so easy, when it became time to put the plan in action, apparently the Elder changed his tune ever so slightly, it wasn't as simple as he made it out to be. This guy was absolutely floored that a JW would lie to him----my response to him-"are you kidding, they have been lying for over 100 years, what makes you think they would be honest now?"

That da letter imho gets to perhaps the biggest internal contradiction and fatal core flaw of the wt claim of being God's organization. To me it's anti-typical Samaria.

"If someone partakes for the first time, elders who are not anointed decide if this person should be counted! Further, no data is sent to HQ on these people, no address, and no phone number. Just a little card with a total on it. The card is a postcard. It doesn't even go in a sealed envelope before it gets mailed. It doesn't(ed.) even have to be signed by the elders. More attention is given to a notification of disfellowshipping than to this most important piece of correspondence. Further there is no two way communication (or even one way) attempted with "anointed ones" when the Circuit Overseer comes for his congregation visit. He will have meetings with the elders, the pioneers, but not with the "anointed.""

As a baptized teenager, i drifted into the world, booze drugs, sex. When i decided to go back, i confessed everything to the 3 elders. One of them thought i was trying to scam them. The other two prevailed however, and they did what they called a private reproof. I just had some temporary restrictions on commenting and prayer. However, i told my story to a few, and since it became public knowledge among the jws, they decided to make it a public reproof. I went on to be a very good dub, ms, pio, bethel worker.

The reactions you get depend on what kind of elders you draw. However, if you clearly demonstrate that you are repentent, you will likely be accepted. You will also need to humbly follow any suggestions that the elders make for you.

I have previously posted that the "community of faith" which I embrace include both JWs and those who are not, including some members of this forum. I have been quite open about my reservations and beliefs within the JW world and on this board, and have been welcomed as a brother in both camps. People are people, and JWs are just as human as everyone else.

I am sure you will be welcomed back if that is what you choose. However, it is apparent to me that you are what I would describe as a "free-thinking" JW...and while you will be welcome in the JW world, and will be welcome to discuss your doubts and beliefs amongst the elders and close friends, you will not be free to share these publicly as in most congregations it will be viewed as causing division. In a sense, that is fair enough. If part of the deal is that you can only be a JW if you accept current JW beliefs then you have to live with that. This is true of many Christian religions. In my opinion, it is not the way Christ taught but in the modern world it may be the only way to survive without fragmenting, which is what happened to early Christianity until Constantine, and later Gregory, enforced unification.

I believe I know what's happening with you Reniaa. Ok, you've had a taste of the world, you have had numerous male relationships and now you've just had another child. Your hormones are running rampant and you feel that you need that warm fuzzy feeling that you THINK you are missing out on with the jw's.

They are going to give you all of that great LOVING attention that you soooo badly crave at this MOMENT. You are on your own for now and probably quite lonely, having to raise your children on your own. So, you're going to go the meetings, kids in tow, and hope, JUST HOPE that some BODY will feel sorry for you and take you under their wing.

Actually, it is YOU who is feeling SORRY for YOURSELF Reniaa. I have read your posts all along and I am very in tune with how people feel and what is going on in their heads by their printed words. Your sister has tried to help you see the falsehoods of the the wts and you have only continued to defend them.

Ya, sure, there are alot of DIFFERANT people on JWD, and they have a right to their opinions and beliefs. Many of them have an axe to grind and for some very good reasons. The truth about the wts is bountiful here, and the internet sites that have exposed these true facts are quite well substantiated.

NOW! Reason on this, just for a moment, from the standpoint of a TRUE jw believer. Through out the years the wts has printed many words about people who have brought REPROACH upon god's name. OH! WOE TO ANY that would bring REPROACH AND SHAME on GOD"S GREAT NAME !!! Reniaa, do you recall such writings? These words are even in one of the Kingdom Melodies, am I not RIGHT?

Now, consider the facts of the matter as regards jw's, the Gb and the child abuse scandals that CONTINUE to unfod at this very date. Just the fact alone that the GB has paid out MILLIONS of dollars to VICTIMS of sexual abuse by ELDERS would certainly be REPROACHFUL in god's eyes. You have to admit that you must agree with this fact. And to think, that the GB of the WTS is THE channel of comminication from god and the HOLDERS and safeguarders of kingdom INTERESTS on earth !!!

Hey, Reniaa, if you don't like what you read here on JWD, you don't have to come here. But, don't forget that you have learned an awful lot while you VISITED with US. I know, I remember how you had your eyes opened on a few occasions here.

Just take to heart the TRUE words that were spoken here. I will be thinking of you and hope that your life gets better over time. I di feel that you do need some sort of direction in your life at this time, I just hope that it isn't a dead end street that THEY lead you down.

    In all sincerity,

    Reniaa,

There's a lot of variety between elders in different Congregations, some elders in some Congregations might make it more difficult than others. There have been cases where elders have disfellowshipped people who had been gone for years, but most of them just leave such people alone, and since, I guess, nobody here knows your Congregation or elders it's very difficult to predict exactly what will happen when you return.

While I'm also bemused as to why you'd ever want to go back, I'll go against the tide here as well and say however that I think a lot of elders don't like to disfellowship people and like to see inactive ones come back so I doubt you'll get too much trouble. Depending on what you've done, I expect you'll have a brief meeting with a few elders, not neccessarily a JC, and as long as you don't defend yourself, it will be relatively painless.

I will add though, that whilst open doubts will be accepted for now, once you commit yourself and become active again for some time, raising any more doubts might get you into a bit of bother...
