I don't know how to answer that Question??????? I loved Proclaimers book till I found out that it was a huge History White wash and written in a way {jumping all over the place} so you couldn't follow there history clearly...

Can't say I remember enjoying reading any of it, though I may have done when younger. Going through the Evolution/Creation book was probably alright at the time. Silly evolution - that'll never catch on.

I loved the deep prophetic ones - Babylon the Great for instance. The older books were often far more detailed in that regard - before the org 'dumbed it down' it seems. I recall the old Wt studies that were broken into two or three weeks to cover 55 or 60 paragraphs of intensely 'deep' prophecy [in the late 50's and 60's mostly].

I could recite the prophetic applications for hours on end - I don't think most of the dubs knew them as well as I did. Sometimes my thirst for that stuff would take me back to the older books for weeks at a time. Some of that might have been seed for my mind to eventually begin to see the prophetic flip-flops that they were taking.

Funny how - just over 4 years out - I cannot recall very much of that shit anymore. Thank God or Thank Whomever there is to thank for that!

I really did enjoy it. Too bad it was all lies and manipulation. Might as well have been watching cartoons. At least it would have been something I could pass onto my grandkids.

I had a huge WT. library and I used to love reading obscure points from the literature and jot it in my large reference NWT. Actually that version I thought was quite interesting.

I enjoyed the "Creation" book, that was before I knew how biased it was.

Also enjoyed the Awake mag. for some of the informative articles.

Used to read some of the older bound volumes.

The old blue Aid book. I loved the style of the writing, and the parts that seemed exploratory/non-dogmatic (hmm...who might have written those??).

Me too, oompa - as a kid, for some reason, I hung on to the big orange Paradise book like a security blanket.

In the old days, research was encouraged. I used to regularly send letters to the Society questioning why they viewed matters in a certain way. For example, I wrote twice within a year asking how they could possibly believe the "heart" in the Bible was literal in its application. Eventually they wrote me to exercise patients and "wait on Jehovah" for further clarification and PRESTO! the following QFR contained a new understanding (which was actually the old one) that the heart was indeed figurative. Right after that they allowed heart transplants....Hmm go figure.
