    JW tales from the Crypt!

    LOL.

Hey, anyone ever hear this particular JW Urban demon legend?

On one of the "Islands of the Sea" (how's that for a nice definite location) the Society supposedly was given a piece of land that had a history of "demon problems".

The dubs figured they were immune and tried to use it. The demunz went after any dubs who tried to spend the night on the site. They eventually had to abandon use of the property.

Now even my fully-indoctrinated, late-teen BS detector went off big-time on this one. If Jehober is stronger than the demunz, and this land was going to be used for Kingdom Interests (tm) then he should have been able to kick some serious demun booty. But he didn't. Go figure.

Anyone else heard this particular bag of shite before?

    OM

Back in 1973 when I was studying, I was told the story of the demonized woman who started "getting attacked by the demons" in the KHall so they rolled her up in a rug and took her out.

What if the KHall hadn't had a rug? Did they have to rearrange the chairs quickly? What did they do with a perfectly good rug? Was it now considered demonized?

I love vampires too! I admit to a healthy love of Harry Potter books too, I started reading them when I was 12 and I borrowed a copy from my teacher. My mom found it and brought it back to my school in person to give it to my teacher and to tell her that she should be ashamed of herself for putting me in danger like that! She prayed that we wouldn't get demonized from it. Good times.

    I remember reading that story.

As I recall, her son was quite sceptical about her new found beliefs, until she visited him (or he visited her, can't remember ) and she tucked her top into her skirt to show the swelling was nearly all gone.

Check out Anne Rice, and her books on the Mayfair witches - much more interesting than that vampire stuff.

Oh, the demon stories... so many, so lame, so stupid... my favorite is a couple who became witnesses threw they're ouija board into the fire and it wouldn't burn! When they started to pray to Jehobla, as soon as they said his name is burned. Thank you, Jehovah! Thank you! If it didn't burn, I don't know what would have happened!

There was a sister in my congregation who claimed to have suffered from demons over, get this, a christian book mark.

They harassed her, she felt depressed all the time. She would get down on her knees and scream out Jehoba's name clutching her bible but as the bookmark was in her bible, Jehoba was busy doing something else at the time.

They never harassed her in the KH of course, demons tremble in fear there.

One day, a brother was giving a talk about demons and how they can get to you from anything... yada yaya bookmark. The sister woke up, took the christian book mark out of her bible and threw it out in the bin at the back of the KH and never had any problems with demons afterwards.

She was serious about this, her sister also believed it. Of course, a few years later when the depression returned she was just viewed as spiritually weak. Mustn't have bought another book mark.

There was a good friend of my parents, an elders wife, who claimed a demon was attacking her at night when her husband was at work.

Everything she described, I learned later at nursing school...was the same thing as sleep paralysis!

They even moved from there, getting rid of all their possesions!!

I remember one sister who gave away her newly-bought second-hand clothes (a witness buying that crap? go figure...) because she believed demons were attached to the clothing.

(in the garbage cos I didnt want the demons to get on anyone else I could give it to )An antique desk that came from a Church....my husband brought home ,went also....

Pity I didnt chuck my brains out with em......
