Hey Shamus100,
I have read all of the Anne Rice novels. I enjoyed them all, even the non-vampire ones!
Another few stories that I just remembered are,
1. Smurfs are evil. Did anyone else hear about the evil demonized smurf wall paper? I did, I had smurf toys before that, but my mother burned them.
2. Floating recliner boy. This was actually in a publication. I can't remember the whole thing but the gist of it was there was a sleeping boy in a recliner that kept tipping onto its corner and slamming back down. I will get back with the specifics when I fish out my Watchtower CD ROM.
I had an odd facination with these stories then and now. Especially the ones in the publications. I do enjoy the JW urban legends too.
don't forget those evil cabbage patch dolls!!! LOL. We had a story that a child had one in the meeting once and it got up and walked out!
Lot of things made from plastic seem to be walking out of KH's....
I loved Twilight books as a teenager. My friends who were religious but not JW thought I had creepy tastes. Now, I read SKing novels. Go figure! We all end up how we originally felt as kids, in one way or another. I love vampire and supernatural books. Don't scare me a bit.
I had sleep paralysis and thought it was demons. It was so terrifying being awake and completely unable to move. We thought it had something to do with a necklace and skirt that I had bought at a garage sale. Got rid of the necklace but still had the waking sleep problem about twice a year for a few years. It was awful! Finally, I learned to talk my way through it until it passed.
There was a story that supposedly happened here about a family that bought a beautiful desk from Goodwill or somewhere like that. One evening, one of the family members reached up to the top of a bookshelf in their home to get a WT. Guess what happened? The WT was being held by something! That something wouldn't let go of it! They also started experiencing a round of bad luck with jobs, health, money, those sort of things. Finally, they figured it out. It must be that the desk they bought was demonized! Out it went along with all of their problems.
Yeah, right. When I heard that, I thought of how much of that was due to their own bad planning and just bad luck with health that affects us all. I was in at that time, but I was beginning to not believe these stories completely.
JWs are amongst the most superstitious people in the world.
But it still makes me laugh to think what we used to believe when we were dubbies.......Or at least I did, my husband had more sense!
I want to examine every case.
