I wonder why they called the police, surely they believe that Jehovah will protect them?

Jehovah's Witnesses believe it is immoral to brandish a firearm in self-defense, however they will gladly enlist the aid of another human being (a cop) to perform the exact same "immoral" act on their behalf. BTS

soliciting in the uk has a whole different meaning, are they sure its a watchtower they were offering?

Refusing to own a gun for self-defense but going ahead and calling someone else to use theirs for you is like what I see the Amish doing here. They hire taxis and vans to take them places but refuse to own a vehicle. It's hypocritical, in my book.

Yes, the police are trained better and more regularly than the average citizen who trains for the gun license, but to have someone else risk being bloodguily instead of you so you can live forever is hypocritical. Citizens are more guilty than cops in cases of killings and injuries, though, so there is that.

JW's can't become gun toting cops but they sure are quick to use them for their own dirty work.

I meant to say that citizens are found more guilty than cops for killings and injuries.

Did I miss something in that article?

Where exactly did this guy break the law?

He has no prior convictions, he has a license to carry a concealed weapon, anyone can diplay a weapon, and anyone can use profanity.

Maybe he was sleeping, and felt threatened when 2 strangers approached his car. It doesn't say he attacked them. In fact, it says he tried to get away, and they chased him.

I agree with LR. Can't see how the man was breaking the law. He apparently felt threatened by the 2 strangers. He had a license to carry, and I don't see how he broke the law.

One Jehovah's Witness told Lapeer City Police Lt. David Frisch that he approached Skibo's car, passing in front of his auto so as not to startle him.

the more i read it the more it sounds like a crock! why would the witness make a point of walking round the front of the car so as not to startle someone, could he see the man was distracted, busy, asleep or doing something that may make him unaware of being approached?

Wrong. I'm a CCW holder. I can't flash my weapon threateningly at someone on a whim or because I hate their religion. It must be kept concealed. What he did is a big no-no. If I am in legitimate danger then I can display my weapon. Otherwise, no.

That possibility exists, however, I doubt it. The narrative just doesn't make it sound that way.

This person probably hates JWs because he has been harassed to death by them peddling their nonsense. That's fine, but you don't pull a gun on people just because you don't like them.

After the incident, Skibo drove away, with the Jehovah's Witness in pursuit,

Can you really be sure of anyone these days who approaches your vehicle...could have been someone posing as a jw's to rob him, I think he could get

off with this idea if he pursued it..... What was more insane is chasing after a guy who has a gun in the first place. It must have been a boring field service day prior to the incident.
