PHEW!!! Thanks Rick I was so sleepless last night because I felt he was offended...
. When I was a JW the elders used to tell me, when I took them on my studies , "Grace instead of saying what you think think what you say" I listened to all they told me ,But funny!! I could NEVER master that order
Thank you for setting my mind a rest. I have to go out this afternoon & it will make my visit with the folks I am going with much more interesting.Otherwise I would be thinking about it. (((HUG)) Love to Inez
I feel very sorry

Hi Granny Grace!
I didn't noticed that it was you!! I heard the conference call last night, and I understood your point of view: JW's probably use the name "Jehovah" as a method of control. However, something similar is mentioned by Steve Hassan in his book "Combatting Cult Mind Control". He was part of a cult called "The Moonies". Every time that he heard the word "moon", in his mind he thought about his Leader (called "Moon"), instead of the physical moon.
After leaving the cult, every time that he heard the word "moon", he needed to remind himself that the Moon is the satellite of planet Earth! But he did it!
In the case of JW's that are leaving, each one needs to remember that "Jehovah" is an accepted common name for God; it does not have anything to do with the JW religion. But that does not stop me and other people to keep using the name "Jehovah" when we reffer to God.
Just my 2 cents!
Have a great day!

I prefer to pronounce the name as Yehowah. In my prayers I refer to my creator as: my Father. I don't refer to my parents by their first name, so why should I use the name of my heavenly parent to address him. I am a son of God, just as the rest of humanity is.

You did not mean to offend. You apologized. Now do yourself a favor and let it go.
Those who persist in being offended have the problem, not you.

Now I am bothered by that. I have asked Ricks forgiveness on a e-mail & on his web page... But I wont listen any more as I hate hurting folks ,which seems my wont to do

You're taking this too seriously, Grace. If the tables were turned, you wouldn't be so upset with them. You'd be understanding, wouldn't you? They owe you the same.

The freedom to speak what's on our minds is part of the reason we're here...
I spoke my mind 2 months ago, and that led to my official DA, since JWs cannot handle free thinkers.
So outside of JWland, we are all entitled to our opinion.
