What a coincidence! I just had a temporary crown put in and a cavity filled this morning. My dentist accidentally injected Novocaine on the wrong side, and when he realized his mistake, he had to inject the other side. Right now, my face is numb from lips to neck, and all I can say is, "Mmmmm ummmmmh." While I don't think dental work is a trip in the park, it doesn't scare me. I had a tooth pulled a few years ago, and a nurse came in to hold my hand while it was extracted. I told her I didn't need her, that I wasn't afraid, but she hung on anyway.
On the other hand, I have phobias that would probably make everyone on this board laugh to hear them, but they make me sweat just thinking about them. Stinging insects and flying in planes are the two biggies, I haven't flown in a jet since 1998. I have another phobia, but it's too stupid to mention.

I got my wisdom teeth out about four weeks ago. I told them that I didn't want to be aware whatsoever when they were taking them out. They knocked me out cold. It took about five seconds of laughing gas, a little prick in my arm for an IV and then I was out. I woke up an hour later after a nice nap.
The only problem was a mouth full of gauze, blood clots, and three weeks of pain... but that's another story :)

Anyone ever seen "Little Shop of Horrors"? That dentist is that movie was enough to freak anyone out about dentists!
And every since I heard the comment about "You'll just feel a little prick in your mouth.", that put the fear in me about gas!

I have a normal, human size brain... but my head would make a space alien proud. Yea..It echos.

I hear you, I was totally terrified of Dentists for years,. When I was a little girl the Dentist I went to hurt me and that drill vibrated my whole head and he was mean and grumpy because I was scared and screamed. My Mom had to hold me down. It stayed with me for years and I avoided Dentists at all costs unless I was desperate. I used to sweat and be nausuos when I went to see them.
Lately in the past 15 years I have gone and they haven't hurt me at all, they have such new modern methods and equipment. The only thing that HURTS is the Bill. I don't have dental insurance

After surgery, and coming out of anesthesia, I always fight to wake up! It's like I'm on a bad trip! I've awakened from anesthesia in four point leather restraints before!

When I escaped the tower back in 83, I reprogramed my brain, mind. I self hypnotyzed myself with positive affirmations, coached by Silva mind control and Dr. Tag Powell.
I was so amazed by the self hypnosis that back in the 80's when I was practicing it. I would go to the dentist and get fillings without novacaine or any anethesia.
It does take more work than a traquilizer or sedative, which you should be able to find a dentist to give you.

Well bad news my dentist doesn't give out Valium ....
Good news the dentist doesn't see the need to do anything to the tooth !
It was a clean fracture of a sliver and did not effect the root . No infection ,and no cavity .Since it is a molar in the back he said if it is not giving me any pain let it be .
Their records showed my last visit was 1997 .......so I agreed to make an appointment for cleaning and check up .....He said if I got Valium from my reg. Doctor that would be okay for the next appointment
