ok for all the hate thrown at the jws on this site, its funny how a person asked what the bible says on a matter and not one of you used the bible!!! One of you even called the bible into "old testiment/new testiment" which is a king james reference. so you guys can talk against someone that preaches (you can call it lies if you want) yet someone asks you about the bible's viewpoint and none of you crack open the bible to show that god is not partial?

Does anyone else find a JW talking about hating a group of people to be extremely ironic?

There is nothing wrong with interracial marriage. Nor is there anything wrong with marriage where one party is barely 18 and the other is very old.
There is one exception to this. If the marriage is prearranged, there is a big problem with that. If someone initiates the use of force, threat of force, or fraud (or all of the above), there is going to be nothing but trouble in the marriage and it should never be attempted. And that goes for gay marriage and polygamy as well--it is OK as long as no one is forced or tricked into it. But the minute someone is forced or tricked into it, a crime has occurred and the marriage should be annulled.

I disagreed, and wanted to find out what the bible said about it to back myself up. i tried finding scrptures..
Bluesbrothers gave the best advice, and it still holds. He also hinted at the scriptures that support it:
Incidentally, there is at least one bible precedent . Ruth was Moabite , Boaz was a Israelite , and they became ancestors of Jesus Christ ..and Moses wife was a Midianite
So you can point to the book of Ruth. And especially for grandma, have her read Numbers 12 to find out what happens to family members who criticize other's choice in marriage partner.
Now as for family and if your beloved has the power to follow his heart regardless of family opposition, he either will do it or he won't. Either way, you will learn a lot about his character and his strength.
.. its just that people would talk..
You can marry between cultures. You will face new challenges if you do. My daughter for instance, married a man from Rwanda. Their marriage comes with it's own challenges and joys. She does regularly face idiots in our society, and I am happy to say she confronts them like a tiger. That is one of the benefits of a mixed marriage. You won't have to wait to see if someone is an idiot/bigot. They'll let you know right away.

Not partial? Really? Why did he favor the Jews over all others? How did he view those who married non-Israelites?

Star, with the JW's, mixed religious marriages are definitely out. Me, I follow my heart. I'm a regular Christian and my husband is a Witness. We do endure bigotry/idiocy from some members of the hall.
