COCO- I traveled for my business to the towns of Placerville and Cameron Park in the Sierra today- the smoke was not as bad as further north. But the closer I got to home - due to closer fires it was sick and smoky. I do hope the fires are put out soon . Too many people are suffering from it

Sacramento actually was a bit improved today because the Delta breezes resumed. Still nasty though.

How are the fires today? We have heavy smoke coming in from the west, so somewhere between us and Los Angeles there is one or more fires. Bad fire season possible, considering how early the fires have started.

Smoke today in Sacramento is the worst it's been so far. Looks like a solar eclipse outside.

What's wierd is I just realized my garden tomatoes aren't ripening, they are just big and green. There isn't enough sun for them to turn red, almost like it was October.

As of 26 June 2008 - 189,000 acres burned/burning

Tankers and helicopters are grounded.

wow! 189,000 acres and it's only June. I was feeling kind of crappy today, my eyes burning, lungs dry and hot, fatigued. Finally the penny dropped - I went outside and sure enough, the valley is so full of smoke I can't even see the huge mountain right across the valley - so I'm drinking lots of water hoping that will help.

I just got back from Yosemite. The Valley is full of smoke. You can hardly make out half dome from the valley floor.

Now back home, I find the San Francisco Bay Area is cold and dark and smokey. It's eerie and I hate it. I've lived here almost my whole life and I have never seen it like this.

They say more lightening is on the way!
