Convention attendee harassed by attendants

  I think from the context of what was said, the guy behind the camera had caused trouble in the family and now his cousin was worried that he was going to cause more by attending, which I suspect would have been the case. I think that you are asking for trouble if you don’t dress for the occasion. You will stand out like a sore thumb.

  Personally, I would try to do anything not to go to one of those things ever again. I hated it so much when I had to go and I am so pleased that I don’t anymore. But we would all know the rules of going back, and this guy wasn’t following them.

  I don’t see what any of it proved. It doesn’t take much to antagonise a JW anyway, but what is the point. We all know how unreasonable they are and the hypocrisy of it all, we learned that when we were going. It is needless to want to prove it again.

  I agree with SweetSweetApostasy 100%.

  That is the key for anyone in that situation. I think thhat principle should be extended to anyone fading who is being harrassed by elders or others.

  Remember - you are not the one who is trapped in a mind control cult. They are. You are not evil. You are enlightened. They aren't the smart ones in authority - they are the poor souls who have been dupped in to believing a fairy tale.

  Remember these things and enjoy sweet sleeps, and glorious fun filled days.

  Did anyone else watching these vids get the feeling like you wanted to just swing an ax at the attendants' head ? What a pompous prick. I can't believe I was one of those once. I'm so glad I'm not a jw anymore. WHEW !

  Not the best example unless you are going to follow it up with, "So that makes him a hero, like a black man in the above situation would be let's not forget. In this country Rosa Parks (and her spirit) is also regarded as a hero. The only thing negative about walking into a whites only diner would be possibly not surviving. Spoiling the whites' dinner would not be a nagative thing in that situation, it would be the mission. They built the boat and started the rocking by putting the sign up. Similarly JWs started the rocking by instituting policies that destroy families and angers the disenfranchised.
  
  The "brothers" in the video were clearly passive agressive, taking an authoritative police-like tone with the man. This is the equivalent to challenging a man's masculinity. A woman would never understand this point. The man was incited and pushed. He has a sore wound and this brother was purposefully and willfully irritating the wound with the very same instrument of original afliction - WT authority, a total slap in the face to this attendant's own cousin. This attendant whether conscious of it or not, probably just acting as any cult member would, but with a bit more mal-intent (I think he was purposefully inciting the man, he wanted to throw him out, it was too much of a testosterone rush for him to refuse) knew exactly the tone to take to really get this guys goat.
  
  I have been escorted off Convention premises a few times, actually kicked off by not WT people but Convention security and the police once. All the brothers will start calling the police as a block of callers with their cell phones and the police are like, WTF? What's going on down at the convention? We just got 20 calls on this guy! So they show up brandishing weapons just to find me singing Kingdom Songs.
  
  Convention security like to keep their customers happy, and the WT is a paying customer. Convention security is always on the WTs side. Any protester must know that and must keep a low profile. It is not true that anybody can attend these events. In fact. The WT, if it didn't want to, does not have to have a 'freedom of speech area' at the convention centers. It is not a requirement for them, therefore we do not have the right to protest on Convention grounds, it is a priveledge that can be taken away if abused in the eyes of the WT.
  
  It is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard to keep your cool in the face of EVIL THAT APPEARS AND ACTS RIGHTEOUS. That's the most maddening thing about witnesses. They are not agressive, they are PASSIVE agressive. You can be passive agressive as hell and not get arrested for it and not even appear agressive at all. Only a small percentage of the population even knows what passive agressive is and can identify it. So that makes people like this guy, who is actually being HONEST about his emotions and showing his true feelings, SEEM crazy in comparison to these sheeple.
  
  In actuality, of couse the crazy ones are people who are in a cult and don't know it. They are so un self aware that they could easily watch this video, as some of you have, and not see the agression apparent in the attendants. These attendants are equivalent to people who participate in genocide because their government tells them to. These guys are the ones that can really hurt people if their leaders told them to, and would not feel remorse. The camera man is way too self aware to be used as a puppet by a cult. He would not be a threat to you and I in the case of state sanctioned genocide (just as one example by the way.)
  
  I applaud this man's courage. I respect him 100 million times more than all the "armchair apostates" and do-nothings here on this board.
