Just finished our District Convention

  I remember the last international at Sydney a few years ago, there was a huge Japanese delegation and they loved wearing their big traditional garb and we loved having quirkly things like that happen at conventions that make us all look like a big loving brotherhood. Anyway one lunchtime they had a special session for the Japanese pilgrims. The seating set aside was the only place in the whole (120000-seat) stadium that was in the sun, actually facing it, midday in Sydney, in the spring, which if you haven't put the pieces together, is pretty hot. There were several hundred of these poor meek folks in their multi-layer special outfits fanning themselves with watchtowers, fainting and being carried out. My brother's f-i-l was in first aid and my brother, his wife and I went over to the nearby pub and bought a few crates of bottled water to hand out. The session was cut short because too many ambulances were needed.

  This will be the first convention I'm going to miss. Will save several hundred dollars in gas and lodging as a result.

  At the DC last year I took the best notes I've ever taken... writing down everything that was wrong with what was being said. It was depressing, cathartic, and eye-opening.

  bonafide, The wts is not going to do what you want just because you think your way is best. I happen to agree with you. I think that it is best to have the DFB just incase. If an event occurs, Call 911 and at the same time get the device to the patient and if 911 gets there first then let them do what they have to but if not then I feel that the device could be a life saver. There are some isues though. DFB should only be used on someone that needs it. ONly a doctor can diagnose disease and treat it. You may be able to operate the machine, but do you know if an unconcious person needs defibrilation or does he have another illness?

  THe answers you were given though are ridiculous. Anyway, if you habe been around the wts for a while, you would know that decisions are made by the hierarchy and they are not open to suggestions without your spirtuality being challenged.

  The only time suggestions or changing made decions work is in the field when YOU are taking the lead, then everyone does what ever they want regardles of what you say or want.

  I am a medical professional the defibs he is speaking about have an automatic sensor that will only deliver shocks if indeed it is needed.

  Well, that is true love, isn't it? To have the best interest of others ahead of your own?

  I think the education stance of the WTS is a good place to start. Isn't there an entire generation that have low paying jobs and no money saved for retirement because of the Armageddon will be here any minute, anti-education stance? It is no wonder that many, many young ones now are going to college-encouraged to and supported by their parents-yes, the ones who can ill afford it due to their "obedience"-but will not see their children go through what they have.

  My husband and I are in this category. He was an elder for over twenty years. But our daughter is in college now, on the President's list and Honor Roll-and we are all out.

  i remember some dummies have lost their jobs because they did not want to miss one day.i used to have the privildge of guarding the stage.that was torture sitting there and trying to stay awake.i never looked forward to those spiritual feasts especially when we had a baby in tow.

  the first one was exciting.-1990.most of us thought next years convention would be in the new system.i had the honor of being a main character in the drama.i was amazed how people would think you were something extra special like you were a bethelite or something.this made me feel weird.

  welcome aboard bonafide.the jws teach that the faithful and discreet slave was born at pentecost.and down through the years there has been some aspect of it.so the question is-why did pastor russell have to reestablish true religion again?and.why did he not find this faithful and discreet slave and subject himself to it?so according to wts teaching -russell is a false prophet and the faithful and discreet slave is not with the wts.so we should not be under any oblication to them.

  After reading your initial post and then reading everyone that posted after you, I have your answer.

  First of all, gather your courage and take a firm stand. Don't put up with this mindless, robotic crap any longer.

  Get over your mistakes and the problems with the WTB&TS and MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE.

  Take the good things you like and have learned which are wholesome and honorable.......and then excerise your decision making process and get out of dodge.

  You staying just to please someone else is doing nothing but making you sick and an emotional wreck.

  TIME TO MOVE ON AND MAKE A LIFE THAT IS WORTH LIVING FOR. Live for GOD if you desire to, but stop kissing the ass of everyone else in the BORG. They (JWS) REALLY don't care if you live or die anyway. (MOST JWs are way too self-absorbed)

  Time to find people and a life that is worthy of you.
