John,
Could be--I've never been in good health. But, at least I ain't an old man.
lol...You will be sooner than you think. An old man I mean. The 'good health' aspect is less reliable.

Einsteins theories break down at the quantum level. In fact many are starting to question his relativity and speed of light theories. Outside of our frame I do not think anyone knows for certain where earthly physics, or newtonian physics, start and end - they may work in most situations but in others the laws are defied. Space is a fabric and can be folded in theory. A race millions of years ahead of our own would surely know how to do this.
Who do you think the ancients were REALLY describing in their accounts? The "gods" as religion likes to push on people, or something far more simplistic (aliens) that eventually took on a life of its own through oral and written traditions - which come to us in the form of "angels", and "gods" - good and evil, etc.?
sinis,

You did not note the third option, natural events that were not understood but were interpreted through a haze of primitive ideologies.

Hamil,
Contrary to what one poster on another thread has claimed, it seems to be possible that great Americans differ in their opinions on important issues.
lol....
The emphasis seems to be in the word 'great'. There is little 'great' that can be seen either Tweedledum, or in Tweedledee, hence their melded opinions.

No natural events do not come into the picture when the ancients describe the "gods". The sumerians, primarily, are very detailed in mans "creation" and WHY the "gods", who the describe as nothing more than aliens, made man.
Natural occurences do not support HOW men moved and lifted the trilithon in the Temple of Jupitor, nor does it support how men made structures that rival some of the worlds most advanced construction equipment, etc. No, what we "moderners" tend to do is equate such feats with the catch all phrase - "lost knowledge". Yea, right...
The aliens always ruin my film, too. I hate it when that happens.

Just don't bend over or you might be probed.

I'm curious. Why is lost knowledge, as you describe it, impossible?
Where is the empirical evidence of alien intervention in ancient times? I'm open to alien visitation but I'm not going to believe unless there is hard data to support such a claim. Absent such evidence, it is more reasonable to believe a more earth-bound (boring?) answer must be true.

but if those civilizations have reached that level of advancement, why haven't we heard from them yet?
I read a new article recently about a tribe in the Amazon rain forest who had been "discovered" for the first time. The anthrologists learned of their existence through aerial photos and opted not to make steady human contact with them, but to just leave them pretty much alone. They said their limited contact with the natives had yielded the understanding that these villagers "knew" there were "others" out there on the other side of the forest because there had been some random contact over the years but they knew little or nothing about that other world. The decision was not to send more scientists into the village because there would be nothing to gain by upsetting the daily life of the natives.
So maybe it's like that with other life forms in the universe (we humans being the natives).

I'm sorry, but it turns out that the story was fraudulent.
