I don't know if it is me or if it is becauce I was taught so much false teachings growing up, or maybe that the Watch Tower publications are about a 10th grade level and when I read a thoughtful article I want to believe it. But boy, Television Media seems to present the public with truths the same way the Watchtower presents its truth. With 10 minute sound bites, never getting to deep and really not explaining very well the history of some of the subjects.Just a thought!

You should come and see the FOX affiliate where I live. Even the local city forum talks about how they spoonfeed the audience the most rediculous stuff. All they need is a bottle of gerber baby food and they'd be set! The only saving grace is the anchorwoman is hotter than a flamethrower.

I think you are on to something here. I've never given it any thought, but most JW's I have know do tend to be interested in conspiracy theories. I've always been intriqued by them myself.

I know I grew up thinking that I knew the *secrets*, (the Truth), about reality. I was taught by my parents and the organization that Satan was the motivating force inside the culture, including all the governments, the educational institutions, the arts, basically everything outside of the organization.

"The Truth" is really just the all-time, great unifying conspiracy theory: The conspiracy theory that explains all other conspiracy theories.

To conspire means "to join in a secret agreement to do an unlawful or wrongful act or to use such means to accomplish a lawful end."

    Simply its a lie.

Individuals who consider the plausibility of any conspiracy theory knows that the devil may be in the details.

Individuals who are all to ready to disregard a conspiracy theory have a simplistic view of Satan, Lucifer, and Evil.

True there are "time and unforeseen occurances".

There are also the machinations of the Devil which are filled with lies and deception on all levels. If you are not at least considering this then you are not being as cautious as serpents.

That being the case I would never just blatantly dismiss a theory. Because it is just that, a theory. We have what would be called the "official story" from the news but who is willing to swallow that whole. As long as we cannot trust our news sources then everything is theory and no one's point of view should be labeled absurd.

We all know lies exist and can happen anywhere and for any reason. Mostly the reasons they do are to keep us in the dark as to what is really going on. That is what a lie is designed to do.

If our own President can do underhanded things to our constitution, what makes you think an authority on the melting point of metal can't be paid off? Are our personal rights being slowly taken away, just a conspiracy theory as well?

Tool Man, I actually had to think about that one! The irony of what you said is great. Is that how you think of me though...some nut at FOX! Come on you know that some of this exist. Does Grassy Knoll ring a bell?.......

When the President did "underhanded things" to the constitution it was glaringly apparent to all who possess an IQ over 100.

Of course, it is possible that an expert on the melting point of metal could be paid off, the reason it is absurd to believe so is that not one shred of evidence exists that an expert on the melting point of metal was paid off. It is easy to make such a claim, producing evidence is another story. Also, the melting points of metal are hardly top secret. They can be found in any school science textbook. If one expert was paid off to lie about the melting point of metal, there would be hundreds and even thousands of other scientists who could easily spot and point out the lie. That is why it is not plausible to cover up conspiracies of such magnitude. They would all have to be paid off!

You want us to believe that fxxx-up governments that haven't been able to carry on successful wars in a backwater like Afghanistan (USSR first, and now the US and allies), yet they can work together to pull off "something" that is "being orchestrated at a global level and that all of the leaders of the major nations are part of it."

but thats all part of the deception man..its what they want us to believe

LMAO at DJP. Never thought I'd see the devil used to support a conspiracy theory. It's like a bad SNL skit. ;-)

"As long as we cannot trust our news sources then everything is theory and no one's point of view should be labeled absurd."

That's also part of the problem - the sloppy thinking that says "no one's point of view should be labeled absurd," even if it is totally lacking in evidence. I disagree. I think some ideas, backed by facts, logic, science and evidence, are superior to those that don't have any support.

I happen to make a living as a news writer, and from the inside I can assure you that there is no conspiracy to hide the truth amongst news organizations. Does that mean that the news is always accurate and truthful? No. But it is not the opposite of that either.

Again, this concept of such high level conspiracies assumes a level of competence and secrecy that has never been seen in human history. And bringing the Devil into this?? Come on! It's like the fundamentalists blaming the Devil for the fossils that prove evolution over millions of years as opposed to the Bible's 6000 year chronology.

Question to all. How many have read G.Edward Griffin's book, "The Creature from Jekyll Island?" How many have heard about Benjamin Freedman or Eustace Mullins? Check this info out.
