Ecclesiastes 10:20 equates to Sattelites?

It's not going to cause me to live my life any different.

    Hi Jaguar,

I have to go along with that. I have studied on some of the extra-terretrial points of view and I can say that I see how some might go along with the idea. Some of it makes sense while other parts seem to refute the parts I agree with. Sort of like the Bible itself. Some I can accept as making sense, while other parts kick me in the gut.

Thanks for the thoughts to ponder!

    ToTH,

You've got to be joking. Jack Van Impe pushes crazy theology with a cocksure attitude rivalling that of the WT Society. He gets that glint in his eyes, and pieces together how every thing in his skewed vision of the world is a fulfillment of scripture as he preaches it , and Rexella nods and agrees on cue. I tune in (rarely) for the entertainment value only -- usually late Sunday night is pretty dead on TV anyway.

In the video here, JVI posits how extra-terrestrials are surreptitiously present and spreading noxious ideas among universities and such. What a hoot.

LMAO At the video . I think the main difference between that and what the WTBTS is saying is the WTBTS has the "aliens" imprisoned on earth already . Since jesus gave them the boot in 1914 ce. I have seen spirits before and oddly enough can say they do look allot like the grey aliens people talk about all the time in the UFO communities .

The late Dr. Gene Scott (his wife is carrying on for him) of the Assemblies of God OWNS several Satellite Transponders. These items are standard business fare if you need "SatCom", these days. I think he bought them on a "distress sale" from some Com outfit in dire straits.

He also has TV stations and SW (Short Wave) stations. He has successfully covered the globe, w/out 6 million door-knockers.

    Hi Gopher,

Actually I think Van Impe is kinda funny and don't lend much credence to his views or prophesies. What I was considering was the idea of a sattelite soaring across the heavens and being a skipping point for a transmission that can reach the other side of the world. In that sense, a bird might fit the description in the scripture. What I am going to discuss with some Jehovah's Witnesses is the fact that their message is not reaching nearly as many people as that of other preachers due to their ineffective method of knocking on doors that have no one behind them.

The new Reverend Scott is his WIDOW!!!

Her name is Melissa. She was also a porn star. Her stage name was "Barbie Bridges".

After Dr. Scott's death, a lot of info on her past came out and I think her ex (before dr. scott) started putting out a lot of info to try to blackmail her for money. All of this was on the net a few years ago, but I think Ms. Scott's lawyers were finally able to get a lot of stuff removed from public view.

Too bad, because I think she was really sincere in learning and teaching. She is beautiful, talented, and exceptionally bright. Her methods of teaching were very different and I enjoyed learning how some of the words translated from Greek, Syriac, Coptic.

    Right; Mellissa, that escaped me.

Yes, she is sharp and intelligent. I'm not sure that she will ever have the depth and breadth of Scott's scholarly presentation. But she is bright enough to get there in the years she has left.

Nut-case, showman, eccentric or what-have-you, Scott pulled knowledge out of the history that was amazing.

[One of my favorites of his nut-job trips was about the CIGAR: "why do I smoke on TV, in a sermon? If you tongue lash me over it being unhealthy I won't quibble. But if you tell me not to do it because the Bible said not to, I'll be on you with both feet. That's not in the Bible!!! I smoke so that I can upset those fine-feathered hypocrites that are going to self-righteously lord it over me. I wait for them, because I enjoy tongue lashing them out the door!!!]

Paraphrased, but he liked to give the "super-fine Christians "what-for"!!!
