Blondie - they are starting the new book entitled ,live with Jehovah's day in mind this week and I think they plan to still be using it at the first of the year when they change the arrangement . It's about the 12 minor prophets that get little recognition but still play an important roll for Jehovah. I've heard some jw say the new arrangement is to create more room in the halls since they plan on enormous growth in the near future ,with babylon being destroyed completely people will start flooding the kingdom halls . Others have said gas prices and cutting back on expenditures or that since the new awake is out about global warming suddenly Jehovah wants people cutting back on the co2 emissions . Haven't read it yet but at first glance looks like yet another , let's blame the auto mobile for the earths problems type article .

Nothing was said about readers, but why would "qualifications" be different for one meeting than another?

In every congregation I have been in not every brother who read at the book study was considered qualified to read at the WT Study. The concept was that more of the public attended the WT Study and just more people attended in general. But it was a challenge to even get a baptized brother at each book study, able to read at all.

The CO schedule used to start with the book study, only with one group in the congregation. Then the next meeting was at the KH, school and service meeting. Then there was a meeting on Saturday night (New Things Learned). Then that schedule was all shook up to the one we have now.

I conducted a BS for a while, where every other meeting I had a sister read. I was only an MS, and because we only had two elders in the congregation I was designated as an interim book study conductor.

I found that many elders and COs were not comfortable with sisters reading (my husband had no problem). But hubby was told that he had to conduct and read the paragraphs rather than let a sister read....he didn't listen.

qualifications for readers are spelled out in the "elders" book and the best are used for the tower study. In the bookstudy itself the best readers were given preference. And yes sisters would be used where necessary.

Now I'm surprised they aren't using the mp3 format since they have the books recorded on www.jw.org somewhere . No mispronunciations and very discernible . I sat through some of the revelation study and sometimes they do mispronounce stuff .

Blondie, I remember similar sentiments when I conducted. Even some other sisters had a problem that I asked for one sister to read, and one only, not revolving readers each paragraph. I was astounded that such a small thing was so important to others. I guess after years in the cult, small changes shake your world.

Likely, the arrangements for Saturday morning field service. It has traditionally been held at the CBS private home location. Now there are no CBS's in private homes. So where will the Saturday morning field service meetings be? There has been absolute silence on this matter so far (rumors don't count).

As the arrangment stands now, FS meetings on Saturday will still be taking place in bookstudy homes, of course by then they'll be "bookstudy" homes.....
