Ask the Sister to provide you with two things:

A copy of the pamphlet we passed our six million copies of about 18 months ago "The End of False Religion" Read it and try to get her to come to terms with how they can persecute others for doing the exact same things the WT does. Ask her to show you in the Bible what God thinks about lying.

If you can also get a copy of the December 2007 Watch Tower study titled "All Things Are Clean To Clean People", then ask her if "clean people" talk about oral sex and masturbation in front of VERY young people. Ask her if that is "Christ-Like"

Thanks for all of your assistant....well yesterday was fired up for meeting attendance, none today, woke up not feeling well...but still a chance at four pm, an hour and a half from now.

I am sure that the sister will call later to see how she is doing..plus her husband will want to see how I am, gag......

My neighbor has experience with jws in Puerto Rico, so understands a bit about them and is trying to get the wife very busy again....plus she spent today looking at jobs at an Army and an Air Force Facility near here.......and she does know about the military position of the jws.....no doubt.

Hey insearchoftruth... Along the line of your question about "when did JWs start"...

The WT teaches that the "faithful & discreet slave," that is, an organization of faithful anointed Christians, has been in existence since Pentecost 33 CE. So the obvious question is, who was this slave between the second century and C.T. Russell in the 1870s?

The WTS makes a big deal of the fact that the "slave" had 1900 years of faithful service. OK, so who was this slave all this time? And if this "slave class" was in existence continuously, why did Russell not join it instead of starting his own group? Who was the slave before Russell?

And if Russell's group was the slave, why did Jesus have to make an examination of all religions in 1914-1918? Wouldn't he just continue to let his 1900-year old faithful slave do the work?

And if his slave had proved that faithful, why in 1918 did Jesus think it necessary to punish the slave by sending it into Babylonish captivity? It is paradoxical that at the same moment in time, Jesus is simultaneously approving and punishing for error this slave.

Furthermore, this "punishment" did little good. It did not cause the WTS to turn around from the supposed "sins" that caused the pnuishment. After the WTS leaders were released from prison, they continued to celebrate Christmas, use the cross, condone misuse of blood, etc., for years!

OK you doin't necessarily have to remember all that. But those are issues that WTS leadership has not come up with explanations for.

This is in a different direction, but have you asked about the pedophile payouts?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21917798/ total payouts would be $12.5 mil.

And why would elders try to protect pedophiles with 'clergy-penitant privilege'?

Print these out and share. I'd love to hear how da brudder justifies this stuff.

The husband will no doubt be offering you a bible study..and the sister would continue with your wife.. I would try to stifle this idea.. If you start to attend meetings they will really be on you. The goal is to get studies to the meetings.. brownie points...You are doing well to get your wife to look into things you have investigated. Keep trying.. This is a terrible cult and it is easy to get in but not so easy to get out of.. Take care..

Don't know if this is too late....but here's a booklet that deals with the JW objections to the traditional view of Christ. It's written with JWs in mind, but doesn't mention them by name. It can be downloaded from this filesharing site:

It may be of some help.

insearchoftruth... it might be good to show Hebrews 1:5-10 in regards to the Michael=Jesus thing. Those vs. specifically state that Jesus cannot be an angel of any kind.

Also ask them to show you a scripture that says Jesus IS Michael the archangel, and they'll say, "Well there isn't one. But there are a couple of scriptures that seem to indicate so."

Then YOU say, "Hm. That's funny. You people criticize that method of reasoning (In the Trinity Brochure) when christendom uses it in support of the trinity. But then you turn around and use that exact reasoning when arguing that Jesus is really Michael. Isn't that a double standard?"

They'll also say, "See here (at some missapplied scripture) Jesus is descending with the voice of an archangel."

Then you say, "God is often described as having body parts and other traits that are uniquely human, so does that make God a human?"

Hope that's not too late for ya. Good luck.
