more evidence: just in the 30 minutes from my last post, outside 2 cops were verbally harassed with Naziesque questions in German out loud for everyone to hear.

And A DEA agent who is an alpha male is on our porch at this moment (friend).

believe me, it is 7:30 PM and it goes downhill from here. Thank God I don't drink nowadays. :-))

Well, I was definitely a "beta" male in high school. I was on the track team and worked out, which did turn a fair number of heads but I never fit in with any specific group either leading or following. Didn't want to either back then.

Since then, I've asserted myself in a lot of ways and by not being content as a follower, I've become a leader (in my work at least). In relationships, I tend more towards beta characteristics, but not exclusively.

The Alpha male will be the one that breeds and gets the most desirable female.

How long does someone stay an alpha male.

Some might be hound dogs for years and some might just be an alpha for a season.

Education, intellect, financial responsibility could effect the length of time one would be an alpha.

    So in theory....

While the Ex PO and the newest PO are probably the 'alphas' of the BOE, the fact that I dismiss them as weak, makes me an alpha gal?

hmmm that could explain some things....... maybe. Or they are betas trying to act like alphas and my BS detector goes off like gangbusters.

Based on all the posts I think I married an occassional alpha, but really he is quite sensitive, he just has to 'feel' like he is winning or leading. I always attributed it to him being the 'baby' of his family, while I am an oldest (well kinda when it suits me). While my hubby is HOT, he is not the 'flirt' type. Occassionally charming if business is involved but not flirty.

Gonna think some more on this subject..... Thanks to everyone for posting your insights!
