Preaching to Mask Problems

Its a prime example of acceptance and charity. When a witness is out to make a convert they will sacrifice their own children to help that person. They will pick them up for the meeting help them get their personel affairs in order and be there for them. after they have finished the 2 books and the person is baptize thats when the change takes place.

I believe the reason for the change comes when dubs can no longer count time spent with the potential convert. When a dub can count time picking you up for the meeting and taking you grocery shopping all is gravy. When a person gets baptize, it becomes pointless to spend time with them. Witnesses have no natural affection and only conditional friendship's.

    Wizard,

I agree and feel this applied to many of the people there but I never actually said so verbally. Specifically, some married women always pioneering and certain other ones who have problems but are always out there because the ministry is a feel good fix and a mask for the problems they can't face. It ain't just about loving Jehovah.

What is really sad is the fact that nobody addresses the issues of people who have major problems and SHOULDN'T even be in public preaching! No, the elders won't touch that with a ten foot pole. They would be 'judging'. Besides, this is a preaching religion. The problem is that this very situation compounds and hides the problem of dysfunctional people who should be addressing the problems in their life FIRST before they venture out. I have met a few who are barely civilized and need 'real life skills' coaching. But, of course, the religion doesn't do this. Not only that, the religion knocks higher education which is what these people NEED. So, you have some people who are attracted to the religion with serious problems, but they don't address those actual problems. The problems are in effect 'masked' like you said.

The problem is these dysfunctional people are inflicted on others in the congregation.

The religion masks everything. Just going to the hall for the first time and meeting the people is a risk because you don't know what they are all about. The nice dresses and suits that are meant to make them look good going door to door also hides from you whether or not they are dependable or respectable. I used to love when they would preach about how we should 'widen out' to our brothers, etc. Well, you never knew what you were widening out to, did you? You might end up having a bad experience with one of them that would leave you reeling for a long time.

Good post, Wizard, but this problem is not going to be solved any time in the future.

    LHG
