Jehovah’s Witnesses today are also quick to help when disaster strikes. During the summer of 2001, for instance, torrential storms caused major flooding in Houston, Texas, U.S.A. In all, 723 homes of Witnesses were damaged to some extent, many of them quite badly. A disaster relief committee made up of qualified Christian elders was immediately formed to assess individual needs and to allocate relief funds to help the local Witnesses to cope with the situation and repair their homes. Willing volunteers from neighboring congregations performed all the work. One Witness was so appreciative of the help that when she received payment from her insurance company to cover the repairs to her house, she immediately donated the money to the relief fund so that it could help others in need.

You know they would never help the "non-believers" if there wasn't a scripture and an ulterior motive (read commercial opportunity) forcing them to.

Can we see their records? We donate regularly to a few charities who not only have an open books policy but send yearly accounting. How about wt? will you open your books?

Yes, why has The Watchtower had a closed book policy concerning its finances?

They only rebuild houses of active witlesses, and then they "request" a donation to the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund in the amount of their insurance settlement. Of course, that never makes it into the media--just that they offer to rebuild. And of course, they rebuild Kingdumb Hells.

What they don't tell you is that they usually do crap work on rebuilding. That is because most of them don't know how to construct a house properly. Much of the work requires some brains to successfully complete (the plumbing and electrical can be really messed up, and the gas hookups can blow up the house if they are improperly hooked up and they leak). Plus, they need to make sure the structure can stand up to a return visit of Katrina or her sister. Not to mention a leaky roof from a lousy job from a common summer thunderstorm.
