    Mustang,

: BTW, this is the list so far:

: THE DOCTRINE OF NEW LIGHT
: THE DOCTRINE OF 'HARBORING PRIVATE IDEAS'
: THE DOCTRINE OF 'IMPERFECT MEN'
: THE DOCTRINE OF CLERGY-LAITY DISTINCTION
    : THE DOCTRINE OF JUDGING
: THE DOCTRINE OF 'OVERZEALOUS BROTHERS'
: THE DOCTRINE OF 'WHERE WILL YOU GO'

You might want to consider adding "Absolute Spiritual Endangerment(tm)" a wacky WTS fantasy that allows divorce when a spouse leaves Da Truth. What a handy way to get around the scriptures! Just MAKE UP SHIT!

Also, "Theocratic Warfare(tm)" which makes telling lies perfectly acceptable, in direct contradition to one of the Ten Commandments and Jesus's own comments. Another good example of JUST MAKING UP SHIT as they need it!

Lastly, there's the ever-changing views on "porneia." How many religions do you know would sanction the same condemnation of eternal death for a mass murderer as they would for a guy who spent a few minutes fondling a boob which was completely covered by clothes?

Absurd! The leaders of the WTS are such DipFucks!

    Wiz,

Stay within the context of this arguement.

The only argument that I will acknowledge is the one that I have established in an unbroken thread from the beginning to the end of my posts on this topic, and which you have still not attended to.

Let me put it in very simple terms and I will use a scripture to help, this is taken from Luke 9:51-55

'51 As the days were now coming to the full for him to be taken up, he firmly set his face to go to Jerusalem. 52 So he sent forth messengers in advance of him. And they went their way and entered into a village of Sa·mar'i·tans, to make preparation for him; 53 but they did not receive him, because his face was set for going to Jerusalem. 54 When the disciples James and John saw this they said: "Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and annihilate them?" 55 But he turned and rebuked them.'
Please note the reaction of Christ to the attitude of those who seemed to enjoy the prospect of the coming judgement on others. Can you not see that even those who have 'set their face' to Christ were not to be judged by others, or viewed as 'Armaggedon', or indeed 'Flood' fodder.

This is not about Gods attitude, but about the mans attitude, if he is fed a perpetual diet of exclusivity. This will inevitably lead to the kind of arrogance that was contained in the statement of yours quoted at the top of this page.

Can you see the point now?

    Best regards -- HS

I have followed this discussion with interest and hope that by now we have got to see that the Dub attitude is the point at issue.

May I add that it's the Dub attitude as highlighted by H.S. that causes them to believe that they are not real sinners. Oh yes, the average Dub will acknowledge that they have inherited Adamic sin but, as far as sin is concerned, only the worldly and lapsed Witnesses commit Gross Sin, don't they? In other words, to the average Witness sin is equated with Gross Sin. They never consider their own sinful state. After all, they are endeavouring to earn their salvation by sticking close to His organisation and being obedient to all its demands.

hence the real Christian message of salvation and grace is lost on them.

    Cheers,
    Ozzie

actually no, Ozzie. That was never my attitude or the attitude of any witnesses that I could discern. If anything, it would seem that they are kept overly aware of their "sinful" condition. The witnesses comfort, if you can call it that, comes from a belief that they are the only ones who will really experience Gods "grace", such that it is.

Btw, please, no explanations of what "grace" really is. I have this sickening feeling that it is going to be in the title of many books, magazines, and talkshow topics for the next few years.

    Grace is becoming very popular.

    wiz:

If I prove something as truth how is that putting anyone down?
"proving truth" does not cause the put down. ASSuming you have the "truth" and proceeding to chastize others causes the putting down.

Does Santa Claus exist? No. How is that putting anyone down? It's just the truth. That's all.
Santa Claus is an intentionally ficticious character to amuse/control children. One's theological viewpoint (for a theist) is connected directly to there sense of self and consequently is much easier to shatter.

So I guess I can take it that many people here that put the JDubs down do it to make themselves exclusive/better/superior?
To these folks it's better than being a dub who put others down to make themselves exclusive/better/superior. At least these folks aren't feeding the egos of the powows in new york.

How can everyone be right? An eventual truth must come out.
It's called personal perspective. It's called making up YOUR OWN MIND to decide what is truth for YOU.

Does God exist? Yes or no, it can't be both. That means those who believe in God or atheists. ONLY ONE can be right.

Did Jesus exist? And was he the Messiah? Christian or Jews. ONLY ONE can be right.

Since Atheists and Theists both exist today, I would have to disagree with you. Both believe they are correct. Both believe the other is incorrect. Therefore, they are both right, and both wrong, all at the same time, depending upon WHO you talk to.

How can I believe in a/my religion and then say that the other religion is right too? I would be saying my religion is a lie. Also, by my believing in a/my religion I'm saying, by implication, that everyone else's is a lie, ain't I?
No, you are saying that "everyone else's is a lie" according to you as you speak only from your perspective. That doesn't mean that everyone else's is actually a lie as a universal "truth", it just means that you think so.

I think you've asked a very good question though. Rather than attempting to fully answer your rational, I would simply ask: What is the point of believing anything? Why don't you just go with the tangible and forget the cosmic voodoo? Or is this place just too d@mn dull without all of the mumbo jumbo?

    Farkel,

    Thanks. You are so right.

'Absolute Spiritual Endangerment': your comment says it all.

'Theocratic Warfare': definitely belongs on the list. With proper poetic justice, I have used this one to save my tail-feathers, more than once. They deserve it & I owe it to them!!! Funny that they don't realize it could boomerang on them. Oh, well; 'lie down with dogs, get up with fleas'.

'Porneia': I've heard of these 'tackings' as they like to say. Does it beat the 8 times 'tacking'/flip-flop record of Sodom/Gomorrah resurrection? LOL.

I left so long ago that the 1st & 3rd were 'not visible' when I was active; I was vaguely aware of #2. As I mentioned, with quick thinking, #2 saved my butt.

Anyway, my 'List of Doctrines' requires obscure ones, that other religions are not likely to have come up with. Isn't the Dubs-evolution just plain strange?
