Well...yeah.
When the Titanic hit the iceberg, it did not sink instantly....it rocked...it rolled...
when it took on enough water it stabilized for a brief flickering moment and then....the bow began to tilt
gradually it listed..more, and more as it submerged under the spiraling waters
If you believe bible scripture, then you will recognize that this is all a planned chaos and that once it goes down in it's hour, it will never be restored.

I am sure that the current financial crisis does not effect the 60% of the world's population who live on a dollar a day. It might affect the 36 billionaires that there are in India but the other 1.1 billion won't notice, unless of course they come in contact with the preaching of the 'good news of the kingdom'.
