I've always liked David Allen Coe. Talk about a guy with variety...
(of course, I don't condone his underground overtly racist stuff)

Now, can you believe the same guy does the lead vocals for this:
It's basically DAC backed by Pantera with Hank Williams III on backup vocals....
I thought it was pretty cool stuff.

I can't access YouTube at work so I can't see any posted clips or share any but I've always been into Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Also Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. You know, the whole "outlaw country" thang.
I've been listening to some of Waylon's son, Shooter Jennings, stuff. He's pretty good...but the best I've heard in a while is the grandson of the late great Hank Williams and son of the not-so-great Hank Jr...Hank III. Now that's some outlaw country right there...

As a general rule, I stopped listening to country when Shania Twain came on the scene. She seems nice enough but I like classic country, not pop.
Here's a country song I love. This one always makes me think of my grandma.

Confederate Railroad. My wife and I danced our first dance to this song when we were dating.

My son tells me his JW father, my second and former husband, drives around listening to this in his pick up truck, crying. He asked him why and Dad said that his life had just not turned out how he expected it to. It's beautiful and gives me goosebumps and makes me misty eyed. The steel guitar solo at 1:50 is one of the most beautiful examples of the instrument I've heard.
Alan Jackson: Remember When
Dedicated to all of us former JW's and currents who have marriages and families that have been divided or destroyed by the WTBTS.
