Oompa, I'd love to take my oldest son with me but he's going to the raunchiest Halloween Party of all Halloween Party's in the "Oregon District" in Dayton, OH. It's definitely an adults only kinda party, can't take the littles! I think I'd crimp his style if I showed up, too! DS25 prefers the company of drunken, debauched people to his frumpy old mom! LOL!

Nice idea, though. There's always next year.

Happy Halloween!! I am going as a witch (keeping in character), my son is a knight, my daughter is Dorothy, my other daughter is the devil. My husband hasn't decided. I want him to be the Ghost Rider. He already has Colors and a chain, just needs the mask! Have fun!

My wife's sister called the other evening - to try to borrow an old costume that my wife has in storage - somewhere.

Anyway, after we got to talking about it, I suggested the following. I told my wife that her sister should dress up as a witch... you know... black skirt, broom, etc. - then take a large piece of cardboard and cut a letter 'B' out of it - and put it on a string - and wear it like a necklace.

Then she could tell folks that she was a witch - with the letter 'B'.

    Get it?

Oh well... my wife and mother-in-law thought it was hilarious.

A few weeks ago - I would've said that I was going to dress up as a barrel of oil - with a price tag on it... that outta scare a few folks... but now... I dunno.

    Regards,

I think we're going to start a new tradition....A couple days ago, after dark our door bell rang. Husband went to the door and looked out..no one there, but an orange bag was on the porch. Husband quickly closed the door. Not me..I go and open the door and looked in the bag. It was a Halloween bag full of treats and a letter and a picture of a Phantom, kinda looked like Oompa.

    Here's the letter:

    Good Evening!

    You've just been BOOed!

Since this is the time for goblins and bats,

For Halloween spirits, for ghosts and cats,

For weird happenings and witches brew,

These are the thngs I wish for you.......

May the only spirit you chance to meet,

Be the spirit of love and friends so sweet.

May the only goblin that comes your way,

Be this Neighborhood Phantom you must give away.

"Tis much better to give than recieve" goes the old verse,

And something this easy won't empty your purse.

It's your turn to pass along a treat and a BOO,

Because now the Neighborhood Phantom is a little old YOU!

So by this time tomorrow, pick three friends sweet,

And give to them each a Halloween Treat.

You have only one day so you'll need to hurry,

Leave a treat on the doorstep, ring the bell then scurry!

    Signed,

    THE PHANTOM

Now these are the things you will need to do:

    1. Make three copies of this letter and 3 copies of the Phantom Ghost for each of the three friends.

    2. Post the phantom on your door or until Halloween; This will ward off the Phantom from returning to haunt you and yours.

    3. Then take a letter, a Phantom Ghost and a treat and deliver them to three houses that do not have a Phantom posted.

Anyway,....I bought three cute spider web designed Halloween bags and filled them with treats. (Candy, Halloween toys, stickers, ect.) I couldn't see myself, "ding dong ditchin' so I took the bags to my grandkids and told them what they had to do. They called me last night about 8:00pm. They had a blast, going to the houses, ringing the door bell and running as fast as they could. They want to do this every year. (My daughter, their mom drove them, and only to peoples house that they knew.)

    Cute huh?

I went to a Halloween party last year. Even though I've been to several Halloween parties the last few years I had never done a costume, so for my first one I wanted to go old school. So I went as Dracula. I did it up with the make-up, fangs, fake blood, cape and all. It was pretty cool.

I was planning on being Sarah Palin, but it looks like I won't be able to afford the costume Sooo funny!! We will turn the light on for the first time this year and give candy to kids. Before as a family we kept lights off, hid in a back room and quietly played games.
