I am always pleased to hear about active JWs who vote in elections. For a good number of years whilst still an active JW, I voted in local and parliamentary elections, although I did not advertise the fact that I did so.

    You're a good man OOTB

    As to Reniaa question:

managed to destroy the faith of any faithful old witnesses yet?

We can only hope so. Once faith is destroyed in the WT one can begin to know Jesus and understand the Bible.

I say, amen to what Isaac said.

Reniaa, if Jehovah is so against worldly governments, then how to explain His instructions to Elijah? From The American Standard Bible:

    1 Kings 19:15 And Jehovah said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, thou shalt anoint Hazael to be king over Syria;

This is just one of the many puzzling things that I used to ponder.

You're welcome. Here's more food for thought - this time from The Message Bible:

Daniel 4: 17 The angels announce this decree,
the holy watchmen bring this sentence,
So that everyone living will know
that the High God rules human kingdoms.
He arranges kingdom affairs however he wishes,
and makes leaders out of losers.

Is there any indication in those verses that we're somehow responsible for what human governments do?

Wow! The past 8 years finally make sense to me!

I'm voting for Reniaa this time, the self righteous demoneizer of the good people of the Jehovah-witness discussion forum

I sense an urgency of jealousy happening here, Reniaa why don't you show some personal responsibility and vote to day.

Express yourself the way you want to express yourself, if you really think Iran should be attacked militarily than you have that opportunity to vote on the candidate

that would most like do so.

You shouldn't be shoving guilt on to people like that just because of some people's thinking that voting is important.........and it is important

Thats all you ferment religious mongers are made up of , fear and guilt and a barn full of ignorance

And don't forget about Daniel.. He was 3rd in the kingdom, wasn't he? So much for servants of God who can't take political office, lol!

OOTB: Congrats... I too voted this morning.. turning that antiquated lever was like ending the final level of control that this org has on me... I was so proud to make my stand for freedom from cult mind control (and for Obama!)
