    funkyderek:

Sorry, you will find hardly a "serious" scientific journal publishing a dissertation or an article containing "a prove for the existence of God"... that's quite impossible.

    One possible approach is:
You can study a new physical cognition (e.g. "beaming" on base of
quantum-physical phenomena / Zeilinger) and to hear a private interview
on TV with this scientist. Hear what he said when they asked him: "Do you believe to the existence of God"...

    An other way is:
Study all "hidden" published alternative physical theories. Also study all new patents issued by the PTO. And e-mail the authors about their opinions about the existence of God... You will be very very surprised.

WOW ABO ABADDON, your post took my breath away.

Almost never have i read such a well crafted, well aimed, well lubricated sepository of a response to an obviously intelectually presumptuous arrogant half educated COCKroach existance of a bloke that somehow thought that by sharing his higher thoughts with us he would be viewed as our resident illuminati member.

Shows what a little knowledge will do ....but i guess everyone is entitled to their biases.

Ah, it is so nice to have a chuckle with my morning coffee. Thanks. "Intellectually lazy" seems to be more applicable to someone who would let the WT and other closed minded fools do their thinking for them.

My very good friend, Jan, is self-admittedly lazy but not intellectually. I wish he were on line to enjoy the humor of the initial post in this thread, which BTW reminds me of some wisdom I once saw from Comf. Two words for you elke; para graphs. Might make your drivel a bit easier to wade through.

    Bad-man, nice post, as always.

    Skeptic/Richard,

Been meaning to tell you how great it is to be seeing you on the board again lately. I hope all is well with you old friend. Drop me a line to let me know how you're doing, eh? And how are the boys?

    Regards,
    Julie

    Erich,

    Not impossible, but staggeringly improbable.

I'm aware of some of Zeilinger's work but I've been unable to track down his opinions on the existence of god. His theories in themselves do not suggest the existence of a god. I found the following quote from Prof. Zeilinger at http://www.kira.org/marvit97.html:

If I roll a die, in classical physics I can make a mental picture to explain why I get a three. I can build up a chain of reasoning for how this happens [even if I didn't predict the result]. In classical physics we call this subjective randomness. It is just my ignorance [that prevented me from being able to predict the outcome, in this case a three.]
In quantum physics we have a different kind of randomness, objective randomness. [For a quantum event] it's not just that I don't know. If you'll permit me to use simple words, the particle itself doesn't know. And if there were God, he doesn't know either, until it happens.
It seems at least that a truly omnipotent god would be at odds with quantum theory as it is currently understood, or at least Anton Zeilinger seems to think so. I'd love a source on Zeilinger's TV interview. I don't think I've seen it and I'm having trouble tracking it down on the web.

    An other way is:
Study all "hidden" published alternative physical theories. Also study all new patents issued by the PTO. And e-mail the authors about their opinions about the existence of God... You will be very very surprised.
Is that where you get your "knowledge"? That would certainly explain a lot. I'd advise reading peer-reviewed journals, and books and articles by real scientists. Most "alternative" physical theories are alternative for a very good reason. They don't provide a useful description of the universe.

I think I'll finish with another quote from Professor Anton Zeilinger:

Skepticism is the only road to new knowledge.

    abaddon:

You use the Holy Scriptures to prove the non-existence of God.
That's the very special characteristic of your behavior.

But now I have a question to you:

What type of publications would you use to reject the existence of God, if nobody of the "damned" JW's had offered his time to study the bible together with you?

Please tell me the name of those books or publications. I'm very curious.

BATHORY; does that mean you liked it?

Thanks... your mention of illuminati got me thinking...

    You notice dear little Erich doesn't seek to support elke's post, the one a little ago was the best he'd seen on this board? No rebuttal of my analysis. He just carries on about all this wealth of information that he has access to;

Study all "hidden" published alternative physical theories. Also study all new patents issued by the PTO. And e-mail the authors about their opinions about the existence of God... You will be very very surprised
... and mentions a Zeilinger... a little later I have the thesis archive of this guy's Institute on screen... Multi-photon Entanglements, Quantum Teleportation and Multi-photon Entanglement, all fun stuff; recent developments indicate a FTL communications system may be possible using entangled photons, and recently they teleported photons accross a tabletop! Hardly proof of god though.

As for the "hidden" published alternative theories... ABSTRACTS PLEASE, and URL's.

As for studying patents; give us an example.

And, please, just because some physics whizz believes in god means zippy-da-do-da to me. Please state, Erich, whether you believe in the theory of evolution, and if not, why not?

As pointed out earlier, you are all talk, no trousers, and your failure to provide any firm evidence whatsoever for your claims just makes you look silly. Making claims of seceret knowledge known by a few and concealed is a very very very old trick. Please do not be a bore.

I possibly would be in the position to send you a broadcasting-interview with Professor Zeilinger (with his reasoning about the existence of God) on a cassette, if you want it. But it would take time and efforts.

There was a very interesting interview on Radio-Austria three weeks ago.

Besides: Alternative theories are not necessarily false theories..

Please tell me the name of those books or publications. I'm very curious.

I'm waitin for this answer, Mrs. abaddon!

A source would do. Don't go to too much trouble. Zeilinger's personal opinion on the existence of gods is not that important, but I would be interested in hearing what he had to say.

Besides: Alternative theories are not necessarily false theories..
No, they're not. But they're usually less good at making accurate predictions than the standard theories, which is why they remain alternative. Relativity was an alternative to Newtonian mechanics, until it was found to make more accurate predictions.

Erich, I'm inclined to agree with Abaddon that you seem to be "all mouth and no trousers." I hope you can prove us wrong on that.
