Your GROL is still useful; in fact the bit that you had a 1st Phone is still coveted in parts of the Broadcast industry. I have a converted 2nd Phone. When I went to take the Element IV, they had quit giving it

BTW, giving your call sign is the same as giving out your name, via the ULS Database.

The local JW cult members know who I am anyway and my JW and JW splinter-religion family shuns me so it's a moot point. I DA'd back when they still called it DA'ing so they all think I am satan's child. I got out of the electronics industry about 12 years ago (Motorola, Schaumburg, Illinois and AVIONICS AMERICA, INC.) so now it's a lot of FUN instead of WORK. 73, Bob WX4QN

says that they have kits, but apparently were selling UNBUILT Heathkits. They are out, sadly

They have piles of old books and Manuals, on line. Some are big and need a high speed connex.

They also have Design Software, including some PCB "roll your own" stuff, for the energetic.

I'm on the cusp of retiring: since you mentioned that NO-CODE went in, maybe I'll break down and get a license, especially if HF is available. But I've got some nifty 6 meter gear

I had a list of kits, but that file seems to have been deleted.

It had the ones listed above and then some. I did find a note on

    http://www.vectronics.com/

and they are still at it with some offerings.

I've sometimes wondered what would happen if you just "stayed in", got heavy into hobbies and remained "on the fringe", associating a little bit. Just talk about your interests, when asked anything "supposedly spiritual". I suppose you would get pushed into the DA'd corner, these days...

It's a little late for that with me: 30+ years inactive, moved to the other side oif the country and my zealot father gone.

BTW, Vectronics links into MFJ. MFJ makes loads of ham stuff and accessories, but does not seem kit oriented. That's OK: the prices are good and it looks like they are a sister company w/ Vectronics.

It's really awesome that you can ask basically ANY question on this forum and get actual factual real answers. I know nothing about electronics but it is cool to see that we here are all so broad in our knowledge (collectively).

I honestly believe that we are far better off "out" than "in" because we don't have a Body of men telling us how, when and what to do with our lives with a regimen of rules and regulations that will change every time the wind blows.

I have Jesus telling me what to do and His load is light.

    KITS, PROJECTS, SCHEMATICS

    http://koti.mbnet.fi/~ijl/technic.html

This fellow used to do kits, but I don't see any on there now. He left the schematics up though!!!

    He's from Europe.

Yes, it is Kudra; the electronics was my escape mechanism in JW's. I would retreat into that shell and hide. I recently heard of a "brother" who did the same thing with the "buildling committee" stuff: drive a bulldozer and drift from place ot place. His wife finally told him : GET A JOB!!!

By the time the relator of the story hit that point, I was saying it from the other end of the phone. That's why I wonder about if I had stuck around and tried the "shine 'em on" apporach.

They should face it: no one wants to do their program.
