it seems many awaken for so many different reasons......for me...ya...changing the bible and making it say what they wanted it to..........oompa

I can't say that I have, but my daughter did. She befriended a Witness at High School. First she tried the doctrinal route. Then she tried friendship. The friendship worked. As soon as this Witness girl got a taste of Youth Group fun, she was so OUT of the society.
I did correspond with an exiting Witness in our congregation for a short while. When she shared what the congregation members were saying about us behind our back, hubby hit the roof. After the dust had settled, she had left the society for good. But she was well on her way out anyways. I've always been grateful for her support, and I hope she is doing well.

I`ve been awakened by a JW..It was my dad telling me to get my Ass out of bed for Field Service!.....Did you know when your a kid,Field Service is voluntary..Right up till the time you say you don`t want to go..LOL!!...........................

We have snatched our own children from the fire. I have not said a lot to our friends and family ( want to keep my fade status if possible). The main reason I have given them is the sexual abuse cases. I think our friends ( who still talk to us) and family are really curious though and just the fact that two fine upstanding JW's would up and leave has them thinking for a change.

The only JW I awakened was my wife, NewLight. At first she fought me and thought I was crazy. However, unlike anyone else who would run away screaming, she has to live with me and listen to my logical reasonings against the WTS. Slowly this got her thinking, then she got curious and started her own research.
Her biggest awakening was from researching the history of Russell and Rutherford on Wikipedia. She saw how what really happened was WAY different than the polished version you get in WT publications. This got her thinking that maybe this isn't the truth. Next she found my COC book, and read it, then it was all over with the WT...

great 7...just rub it in my face you luckybastard!....that was my dream scenario for my wife....only she refused to open her mind AT ALL...and just started crying everytime i tried to reason with her...and ya...i used logic too.....she will not go there or allow herself to question anything....so now we just both try to never mention anthing religious or biblica.......oompa

Oompa, your situation is much like mine...no reason at all, just looks at WTS pubs and refuses to consider anything else.....very disheartening!

I don't know if this would work in your cases, and I wouldn't want to stir up a problem with your family life...but maybe this would help.
Do you guys have a Watchtower cd library?
If there was a way for you to bring up a question, say like "someone told me,,, ,and I don't believe it, and want to prove them wrong" type of question. Have your spouse look up "Organ Transplants"..."WT67, P.15 (I think)" in the cd library. (organ transplants). In that same search, you will also see WT80. Have them read both articles. Then ask yourself...How many people died because of this teaching before "Jehovah" changed his mind? And....where in the bible does it say anything about refusing organ transplants?
Check it out first. I don't want to be the one who starts a feud between you and your spouse, so don't blame me if it doesn't work. It's only a suggestion. Use your own judgement.

hubert...nice try...but the she has shut the door on me....my dad and other elders she has spoken with say "oompa is a spiritual threat to you, so if he ever trys to talk to you about anything religious, you need to quckly tell him "i can't talk to you about anything religious".....it is like a stepford wife the way she says it....and she has a blank face with no emothions when she says it, and usually she walks away right after saying that.....oompa

My wife for one.
I gave the nudge that helped my brother in law vacate some time later (via criticizing the Evolution book.)
I am working on some other relatives, but the resistance is tremendous and I have to step very lightly. They already acknowlege some stuff as crap while staying inside though. It is kind of hard to get to people that have invested decades in the Tower, it is easier with those under 30.
