OOMPA- Your own dad and other elders told your wife you are " a spiritual danger ? " ! Did she tell you they told her this ? Dude- I'd be pissed at my dad if my elder dad did that ! But I know you have to keep the peace with wifey - so I see your side of caution as well.

In answer to your question - I am trying to help every JW that comes to my door and keep them verbally sedated at my doorstep while I try to make them think in more realistic, clear terms. So far - I've talked 3 times to J-dubs coming to my door for an hour or more, and a couple more I have seen doing street witnessing , and one in front of a store. I do not know if they've awakened - but I certainly hope they won't forget what I told them

Well, my hubby is more then 1/2 way out. But, I'd say this was a group effort. I helped some, he's also spoken with Mr. Flipper, he thought a lot about what some of you had said that time he posted on this board, some of the different literature and videos helped a lot, then some long-time JWs are mostly faded it got him wondering why I think.

One of the things that helped was to get as many different resources involved as possible. Often, somebody else says something much better then you can, or bring up a different point that you hadn't thought of, and so forth. Once the JW sees that it's not just you that feels this way, or that these apostates aren't crazy people but a lot are very thoughtful, loving people, it starts to change there perspective of things...

As far as awaking a JW, I had a part in keeping a close friend who had just picked up her study again & just joined the school to give her first talk. She called us because a friend of ours had died and they gave her our phone number. I was married at the time so my hubby got on the phone with me and we both told her all we could think of to keep her from going back to give that talk. She stopped her study and didn't go back to the meetings ever again. She had just retired early from a Defense Dept job in DC. So, she wanted to pursue her hobbies & get right with God. Now she is able to paint, make dolls, and work her garden without having all those pesky meetings interfering with her time. She was really grateful to us helping her to stay clear of the wt beast. I called another old bible student that also had just restarted her study again. She had been born into a witness family. She wouldn't listen but maybe she never did anything about it. I lost track of her. I can only hope. We all plant seeds to help them leave. Hope more will join us out here. Remember you lurkers out there, Come to the dark side "We have cookies!"

I forget the exact number but it's around 7-10 right now due to my video series. One I'm particularly proud of who now posts his own youtube videos.

i have awakened one and to my surprise i am discovering that I am not the only one in my "circle" who is thinking 'critically'. It seems that many are "thinking" but not acting and too afraid to tell anyone. I know 5 personally right now.

Once you get them comfortable with you they let a little bit out. It just takes a long time to get to that point without setting off any panic alarms.
