What is the best state to live in in America? (page 4)

I have been in Puerto Rico for the past three years. There are many nice things about the island and its people. However, you really do need to have a good understanding of Spanish to get by, especially if you want to work. On the plus side, you can live pretty economically if you are on a budget. Of course, you get that "road to nowhere" feeling here too, just like Hawaii.

If I was a muli-millionaire, I'd own a house in the Keys, the OBX of NC, the mountains of NC/TN, a place in Hawaii, San Fran, New York and Las Vegas and just skip about from place to place...but then why stop there? I'd want a place in London, Edinburgh, Venice, Paris and Barcelona as well.

My son and his wife live in Virginia. They love it. I live just outside Boston...and I love it. LIved for over 20 years in Florida...and hated it....

California is one awesome state dude!!! No doubt about it. Pretty much anything you could ask for is here. Boston area is the other choice for me. One day I will live there.

I tried to deny it in my earlier years, but I am a total Idaho girl. I love the seasons, the lakes, mountains, its sooo beautiful here, IMO....

So many factors, cost of living, climate, etc. I love the southeast, the Carolinas, Tenn, KY. But Florida sucks. I've been there a lot at various times of year and different areas of the state. Don't like it. Ohio is beautiful, upstate NY is gorgeous, same with Conn., Mass, Wis.& ,Minn. Utah and Nevada are armpits. Like overtaxed California, Texas is so big you can find some beautful places, but not DFW or Houston. WA state and OR are beautiful (but someone mentioned Seattle/Tacoma which is like Los Angeles only raining, cold and the worst traffic on the west coast.
