  Don't look for things to criticize so often. That is a JW trait.

  I don't look for things to criticize. I wait for an alarm to be set off, and I react to it according to what the situation warrants. I made no criticisms; I offered no commentary. I posted one simple syllable: "Hmmmmm." You have inferred anything beyond that, based on your past experience. That's a good thing; it's what I do, too. Are you being too suspicious of me? Are you being critical of me? Or do you feel that most likely you have correctly assessed the situation based on my one-syllable comment? Do you feel that the chances of you being right about my meaning are good enough for you to pass judgment?

  Shame on you.

  That's what I thought. It's okay for you to do it; just not for us to.

  Wrong. There is no shame in what I did.

  confusing thread.

  i'm still trying to figure out who the suspicious people are. are they the ones who said "hmmmmm"? reading through this, i thought the hummers might be saying that, "hmmmm.... that's a tricky situation" or "hmmmmm.... i don't know what to say about that."

  hmmmmm. (as in, "hmmmmm... this is an intersting thread..... i wonder how it will play out.....")

  I got lots of comments, from people, who agreed with me, and they understood perfectly.

  By "understood" you mean that they agreed with you that it's okay for you and them to make a snap judgment call based on an impression and to call people down for it.

  That's more than our "Hmmmm" was doing... but it's okay in your case.

  No it's not, it's a people trait. Funny how you makes such blanket, generalized statements. Single out a group for a scape goat.

  Maybe you are/were a negative/pessimistic person. I tend to be negative/pessimistic. But I wouldn't characterize a whole group of people that way.

  I think all/many religion instills an element of guilt for motivation. All/many religions questions a persons motives: whether they are good or bad.

  Check out these boreds Mulan. All they do is criticize the WTBS/JDubs. But you say it is a JDub trait. Wake up Mulan, it's a forum trait too.

  Whoa! That is scary!! I WAS a very negative and pessimistic person. It's scary that it still crops up from time to time.

  The last two posters made some good points. I am not so stubborn, that I can't concede. So.......OKAY, already.

  I was only concerned about a young girl, wanting some help, and some of you being suspicious as to whether she was for real. There was a possibility she was fake.........it turns out she wasn't, and that is the point. Maybe it is a trait of people on boards (not boreds) to be suspicious. I am not. I am too trusting perhaps, and that does get me victimized from time to time, but I still think it's better than being suspicious. (however, I still think it's a BIG trait among JW's, to be critical and suspicious of anyone new, or not of their inner circle..........I stand by that one)

  Enough of this thread now, okay???
