oompa I feel for you you must hurt alot, it's so sad what this evil org does to people. Also how many believe so strongly in it.Many here have a hard time because one or the other spouse(usually the wife) is hard wired to the org and you can't change her way of thinking. The hurt, the sad feelings, the broken hearts,so sad.We can see the bright light of how wrong this org is but how can you part with a loved one who is in the darkness,in the dungeons of the org.I could cry a river of tears for all the hurt this org does to people.I don't know what the answer is.

The people who believe this stuff are so blinded. At our meeting last Sunday the elder who gave the talk blamed the friends for believing in 1975 said that any who said that was the end of the system had been running ahead of the FDS. That he FDS never had tought that. I was like what are you talking about. I clearly remember being taught form the stage that the end was coming in 1975. I was sure I was going to be dead as everyone one in the hall hated my crazy family and I was sure Jehovah did too. What a way to live when you are just seven and eight years old believeing that this God of love is going to kill you because of your parents. Now to sit there 30 years latter and to be told that I made it all up is insane. This is such a crazy making religion.vs77

Glad I was already 5-years-out by 1995, as I think I would have been highly disturbed, distressed, ticked! I mean 1914 was THE BIG "anchor for our souls" not to mention THE BIGGIE talking point at the doors! By removing it, it would have seemed that the end was then "nowhere in sight."

But since WT always had it wrong (it was NEVER 1914, but 1948), I'm just glad I was out and free to learn correctly w/o WT blinders.

    I did.

    Biography:

Faded from the tower with my wife and son . The 1914 generation living to see Armaggedon was the one thing that I knew would either prove them right or wrong in time..... and so it did. Avatar is a picture of the star of Bethlehem that sits atop South Mountain in Bethlehem, PA USA where I reside.

That was the first district assembly I ever missed -- and I missed it because my husband was losing his job and we did not have funds to go.

I became inactive the following year, but it didn't have anything to do with the "generation" belief -- I never really understood the 1995 revision, and still can't explain it.

Actually, the 1992 flip flop on education affected me more. In 1992 they came out with a brochure that basically recommended that parents provide some sort of post-secondary education for their children. It made me furious because my oldest daughter was already in middle school and we had made NO provisions for our children to go to college due to the previous Watchtower stand.

After my husband's plant shut down, he started college and I followed a semester later. We both have Associate Degrees, but hubby turned down a full scholarship to get a Bachelor's degree and took a job instead. All our kids got some college thanks to finanacial aid, but none of them have yet earned a degree.

When I look back on what I believed and taught as a Witness, I find it hard to comprehend how I ever thought JWs had "the truth".
